and bold style, has found herself at the center of a controversial battle with her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, regarding the status of her health.

“I don’t have frontotemporal dementia…it’s disgusting,” she said, asserting that the condition, which affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, is “a very rare thing” for anyone to have. 

Williams, 60, also addressed allegations of her incapacity, firmly stating, “I am not incapacitated. I am not a baby,” in an attempt to refute claims that she is suffering from severe cognitive impairment.

However, these public statements have caused concern for her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, who has been managing Williams’ affairs since her health issues became public. According to the legal filing, Williams’ conditions will likely worsen, with no known cure, and Morrissey is seeking confirmation from a specialist to determine whether Williams still has the mental capacity to make decisions in her own best interest.

The controversy intensified after the airing of the A&E docuseries, which delved into Williams’ health struggles and personal life. In the documentary, her ongoing challenges with her health were laid bare, which prompted a strong response from Williams. In a follow-up interview, she expressed her displeasure with the documentary, calling it “disgusting” and claiming that it “shamelessly exploits” her image. “I watched it with my guardianship person,” she revealed. “That was the first time this guardianship person was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ and she was writing stuff down. I was looking like, ‘Oh my god,’ do you know what I’m saying? What happened with this?”

Despite her dissatisfaction with the documentary, Williams clarified that she still holds no ill will toward Lifetime, the network behind the series. “I’ve worked with Lifetime several times,” she said, suggesting that she would be open to collaborating with the network again in the future, despite the negative portrayal in the film.

Morrissey, however, has a different perspective on the issue. She claims that the lawsuit against A&E is in place to recover significant monetary damages, which could help cover Williams’ future healthcare needs. In her legal filing, Morrissey argues that the media companies involved in the production of the documentary knowingly exploited Williams’ condition for profit, adding that her deteriorating health requires ongoing financial support for medical care.
