This Morning was left in chaos as Josie Gibson attempted to tuck into a kebab during a live cooking segment as Rylan Clark stepped in and offer his help
Josie Gibson, the This Morning presenter, had a bit of a mishap during a live cooking segment, with her colleague Rylan Clark coming to the rescue.
The 39-year-old was about to enjoy a delicious chicken skewer when she nearly “burnt off her finger tips” on-air as she hadn’t realised that the kebab was piping-hot straight from the air-fryer.
As soon as she felt the heat, she dropped the chicken, prompting Rylan to humorously suggest a trip to “A&E” which sent the ITV studio into fits of laughter.
They were joined by celebrity chef Nathan Anthony, who was demonstrating how simple it is to prepare a summer feast with an air-fryer, but things didn’t go quite as planned.
Eager to sample the food, Josie grabbed the kebab stick and quickly let go, exclaiming that it was “a bit hot”, reports the Mirror.
After recovering from her on-screen gaffe, Josie showcased the cooled skewer and remarked: “Looking at that you’d think that had been done on a BBQ, wouldn’t you?” Rylan quipped back: “I’m going to take you off to A&E in a minute.”
Josie responded: “I’ve got no fingertips left but it’s all good.” The segment continued to be eventful as Nathan confessed his air fryer flatbreads hadn’t turned out as expected.
Rylan stepped in once more to smooth over the awkward moment, saying: “We won’t judge you for that [Nathan], we’ll just say it was an accident on television.”
Nathan quipped: “That’s live TV for you,” and then reassured viewers by saying: “Don’t worry, you can do them [the flatbreads] in the pan,” to confirm that the classic stove-top approach is still a winner.
Josie and Rylan could barely contain their laughter as they realised the cooking segment had been a bit of a shambles from the start.
