Cruise was one of many celebrities at the Bercy Arena on July 28 for the qualification round of women’s artistic gymnastics
Tom Cruise was not the star of the show at the Bercy Arena in Paris on July 28, but the actor still drew a lot of attention as he watched Simone Biles and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team compete.
Cruise has been in Paris for the first few days of the 2024 Summer Olympics, and was first spotted at the opening ceremony along the Seine river on July 26.
He was one of many celebrities at the artistic gymnastic’s qualifying round on Sunday, including Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas and Anna Wintour.
Cruise attracted a gaggle of fans as he walked around the arena, and posed for seflies with many people from their seats.
He also seemed in good spirits as the arena began playing the Mission: Impossible theme song. Cruise was shown smiling on the jumbotron as a few seconds of the iconic music played.
Ahead of the weekend, Cruise was in London to see Bruce Springsteen at Wembley Stadium. He spent significant time in the U.K. recently, as he filmed the latest addition to the Mission: Impossible franchise.
The 2022 installment, Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning, made $172 million at the domestic box office and earned Ethan Hunt and co. their first-ever Academy Award nods.
Team USA’s cheering squad in Paris has been quite star-studded. As the women’s gymnastics team competed, Jonas and Lady Gaga celebrated them and Biles on social media while watching from the stands.
Alongside video of Biles competing, Jonas wrote, “Incredible. Legend.” Similarly, Gaga wrote of her video of Biles, “She nailed it what an honor to be so close!!!!”
Next up for the women will be the artistic gymnastics women’s team final, set for July 30, also at the Bercy Arena.
