Prince Harry is reportedly scrambling for “more sensational material” that publishers can include in a paperback version of his bombshell tell-all memoir, “Spare.”
The Duke of Sussex, 39, released his protocol-shattering book in January of last year. Since then, he has found himself to be more estranged from his family than ever.
And while the hardcover copy of his book has been out for 18 months already, there’s been no sign of the paperback version’s release.
According to the Daily Mail, publishers are keen to make a push for one to get on the market, especially if Harry can provide new “sensational” material they could include.
“It seems Harry has no new spare excitement to impart,” royal insider Ephraim Hardcastle wrote for the outlet.
“His family has kept him at arm’s length, aware that anything they say could be taken down and used in evidence against them.”
“The only exclusives Harry could offer relate to his view of the Coronation from behind Aunt Anne’s plumed hat and how he nipped in to Buck House en route to Heathrow to use the loo,” he added.
The Post has reached out to Harry’s reps for comment.
The bombshell tidbits publishers are struggling to find is surprising, considering that Harry boasted about having enough content to write more books about his experience growing up as a member of the UK’s royal family.
The father of two, who is reportedly considering publishing a follow-up book, previously said he was forced to cut out nearly half his content from the first draft.
Last month, Harry was warned against publishing another memoir as it would “slam any hope of future reconciliation” with his estranged family.
Still, the content that made it into the first book managed to cause enough damage.
Among the myriad of revelations in his book, Harry’s feelings toward Queen Camilla, 76, were laid bare as he branded her “dangerous” and “the villain.”
Harry also claimed that his stepmother leaked stories about the royal family to the media to maintain her image and boost her popularity.
“I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar,” he wrote.
He said that meeting Camilla — referred to as the “other woman” in his book — was like an “injection,” writing, “Close your eyes and you won’t even feel it.”
King Charles III allegedly resents his youngest son for his remarks.
“My feeling is that Charles can so easily turn his back on Harry because Harry committed the one unforgivable sin: Harry dissed Camilla in his book, ‘Spare,’ branding her a ‘villain,’ ” royal expert Christopher Andersen told Fox News in November 2023.
“He could have trashed [Prince] William and the monarchy all he wanted, but King Charles is wildly, blindly devoted to Queen Camilla,” Andersen went on. “King Charles III angers easily, and he holds grudges.”
Harry and his wife, American Riviera Orchard entrepreneur Meghan Markle, also criticized the Firm in their Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan.” The couple, who now reside in Montecito, California, with their two children after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020, were snubbed by King Charles’ Trooping the Colour event for the second year in a row last month.
