Simon Cowell is rumored to be behind the possibility of Davina McCall replacing Bruno Tonioli on Britain’s Got Talent as a judge.

The presenter has shut down speculation that she could take over from current Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, after stepping in to cover on Heart FM while she jetted off on holiday

Davina McCall has ruled out replacing Amanda Holden on Britain’s Got Talent following reports of a shake-up for the ITV talent show.

The presenter has recently filled in for Amanda while the judge jetted off to Mallorca, with Davina taking over her 6.30-10am slot on Heart FM.

After plans to rejig BGT emerged recently, fans were left wondering if Davina could also fill Amanda’s role on the show. But Davina was quick to shut down any speculation, confirming she “couldn’t do it”.

Davina, 56, said, “Replacing Amanda on Heart is one thing, but filling a seat on BGT? That feels wrong. Amanda is on Heart daily, but BGT is massive. I couldn’t do it!”

Although Amanda’s spot on the judging panel seems to be safe, fellow judge Bruno Tonioli reportedly had to defend his role on the show, after rumours of him being axed started to circulate.

At the opening night of Kiss Me, Kate at the Barbican in London, Bruno seemed relaxed as he posed for photos. Speaking to MailOnline, a source claimed Bruno said: “I’m not going anywhere. I will be back with bells on.”

It’s not the first time Bruno, 68, has been rumoured to be leaving BGT, with the show’s £100million revamp going ahead, bringing with it a change in filming dates – which has caused havoc with Bruno’s schedule, as he also judges Dancing With the Stars in the US.

An insider told The Sun : “Once it became clear auditions were starting in October, as opposed to January as per the previous 17 series, it became clear Bruno may not be able to take part.” They added: “He’s committed to the US, but the new format for BGT is non-negotiable because the show will effectively be replacing Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.”

The shake up on BGT comes as bosses have recognised they need to update the way the show runs to keep up with current viewing trends and to maximise profit – although they say ratings are “higher than ever”.

An insider told The Sun : “Having over seven million viewers makes it the most watched entertainment show after I’m A Celebrity.”

Adding: “Stretching BGT over three months could make it even more of a presence. Online is where advertisers are now pumping in their money, but to get the clips they need the show.”

Davina McCall has firmly denied any speculation that she might be stepping into Amanda Holden’s shoes as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent. Despite filling in for Amanda on Heart FM while she was on vacation, Davina has made it clear that she is not interested in taking on a role as a judge on the popular ITV show. “Replacing Amanda on Heart is one thing,” Davina stated, “but being on the BGT panel is a completely different ball game. It just doesn’t feel right to me. Amanda is a daily fixture on Heart, but BGT is on another level. I just couldn’t do it.”While Amanda Holden’s position on the judging panel seems secure, fellow judge Bruno Tonioli found himself having to defend his own role on the show amidst rumors of him being replaced. At the opening night of Kiss Me, Kate in London, Bruno reassured fans by saying, “I’m not going anywhere. I will be back with bells on.” This isn’t the first time Bruno has faced rumors of leaving BGT, especially with the show undergoing a massive revamp that includes a change in filming dates. With the show set to start auditions in October instead of January, Bruno’s busy schedule as a judge on Dancing With the Stars in the US has caused concerns about his availability for BGT.Sources close to the show have revealed that the revamp of Britain’s Got Talent is essential for keeping up with current viewing trends and maximizing profits. Despite already having high ratings, the show is looking to increase its presence by extending the season over three months. The move to online platforms for advertising has pushed the showrunners to rethink their strategy and adapt to the changing landscape of entertainment. With over seven million viewers tuning in, BGT remains one of the most-watched entertainment shows alongside I’m A Celebrity.Stay tuned for more updates on the latest news and trends in the entertainment industry.
