A new conspiracy theory has emerged surrounding Blake Lively’s dance scene in the movie It Ends With Us, 

intensifying the ongoing legal battle between the actress and her co-star, director Justin Baldoni. 

The online speculation centers on an alleged similarity between Lively’s dance in the film with Baldoni and her earlier dance with her husband, 

Ryan Reynolds, in their 2011 movie Green Lantern. 

Some fans have drawn comparisons between the two scenes, leading to wild theories about the personal dynamics at play during the production of It Ends With Us.

The controversy began when an X user (formerly Twitter) posted a clip from Green Lantern showing Lively and Reynolds sharing a dance in a bar scene. 

The fan noted that the way Lively and Reynolds move together is remarkably similar to the slow dance shared between Lively and Baldoni in It Ends With Us. The only apparent difference between the two moments, according to the fan, is that in Green Lantern, Lively and Reynolds’ characters are conversing during their dance, while in It Ends With Us, Lively and Baldoni share a wordless dance as part of a romantic montage.

The fan, speculating on the connection between the two scenes, wondered if Lively had intentionally recreated the moment from Green Lantern to reflect her feelings for Reynolds. “Could it be possible that Lively was trying to recreate the scene to be similar to the scene she did with her husband when she fell in love with him?” the fan asked. “Did she rewrite the scene to mirror the details of the dance? Is this what she means when she says her husband is ‘all over this movie’? Did Reynolds see this and get jealous because it hit a nerve?”

Other fans seemed to support the theory, praising the observation and agreeing that the similarities were hard to ignore. “Great observation!! They argue that Lively’s claims of unwanted touching are unfounded.

Lively’s team, however, has called Baldoni’s release of the footage “an unethical attempt to manipulate the public,” suggesting that it was intended to discredit her allegations. Her representatives have firmly rejected Baldoni’s interpretation of the scene, continuing to assert that Lively was subjected to unwanted physical contact and verbal remarks during filming.

Amid this legal turmoil, another intriguing detail has emerged. Lively has confirmed that Reynolds was involved in the creative process of It Ends With Us, particularly in writing the movie’s iconic rooftop scene. She revealed in a 2024 interview with E! News that Reynolds had written the scene, noting that the couple collaborates closely on their professional endeavors. “We help each other, we work together so much… he works on everything I do, I work on everything he does, so his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his,” Lively explained.
