Katie Holmes is reportedly set to spill the beans to Oprah Winfrey on all things Tom Cruise.
The Hollywood duo were a showbiz power couple when they tied the knot in 2006. But just six years later their marriage was over as Katie filed for divorce.
What has ensued has been a turbulent ride, with Tom’s kids also distancing themselves from the Mission Impossible star.
Now, Katie is said to be ready to tell her side of the story, which saw he granted sole custody of their daughter Suri who has since ditched her dad’s surname.
Tom was ordered to pay Katie $400,000 a year until Suri’s 18th birthday, which landed earlier this year.
Sources say Katie has been inundated with “mind-blowing” offers to share her story following Suri’s 18th birthday.
Speaking to Heat World, one insider said: “Now that Suri can deal with her dad directly, everything’s changed for Katie. Although, she’s still unnerved by the thought of doing an interview, as there’s things that she’s still unable to fully talk about, even privately.”
Speculation suggests Katie is prepared to chat with Oprah if she were to bare all. Tom previously spoke to the host in 2005 – and jumped on the sofa to declare his love for Katie. The duo married a year later. The split is said to have had a lasting effect on Katie. The source continued: “Tom did such a number on her self-esteem, her ability to trust men, and her ability to trust herself. It’s no exaggeration to say she’d rather be single than wind up with another guy like Tom.”
Katie has recently took a step away from acting and is said to have a new focus – fiction novels. Katie has also been working on a number of fashion projects – including a collaboration with French brand APC – but she also hopes to eventually branch out into beauty and launch her own line.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper last month: “I’d like to continue to write and direct my own films. Maybe write a few books – fiction […] I would love to [launch a beauty line].”
The Mirror has contacted Katie’s representatives for comment.
