Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyer makes a shocking move by suddenly WITHDRAWING from his “sexual predator” case, citing an unexpected reason: DOESN’T WANT BLOOD ON HIS HANDS?

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team faced a shake-up on Friday as one of his attorneys, Anthony Ricco, filed a motion to withdraw from the case.

Ricco’s request to step down comes just three months before the highly publicized trial is set to begin on May 5, adding a new layer of intrigue to the embattled music mogul’s legal battle.

Attorney Requests Withdrawal Due to Undisclosed Reasons

In his motion, Ricco cited ethical concerns as the primary reason for his decision to step away from Combs’ defense.

According to documents obtained by Fox News Digital, the attorney stated that while he had provided Combs with a high level of legal representation,

he could no longer effectively serve as his counsel in accordance with the American Bar Association (ABA) Standards for Criminal Justice.

Ricco refrained from detailing the exact reasons behind his withdrawal, referencing attorney-client privilege. However, he assured the court that his departure would not disrupt the current trial schedule or interfere with jury selection and pre-trial proceedings.

Despite Ricco’s exit, sources close to the case confirmed that Combs’ legal team remains intact and fully engaged, with five other attorneys still representing him. The motion to withdraw now awaits approval from Judge Arun Subramanian.

Combs’ Trial Moving Forward as Planned

With a trial date set for May 5, the legal battle surrounding Combs continues to intensify. The prosecution has estimated that presenting the government’s case will take approximately three weeks, while the defense expects to need one week to argue on behalf of the rapper.

Further complicating matters, a superseding indictment was filed on January 30, extending the timeline of the alleged crimes. The updated indictment claims that the racketeering conspiracy involving Combs began in 2004 and continued through 2024. Additionally, the revised document includes two more anonymous victims, bringing the total number of accusers in the case to three.

Serious Charges Could Lead to Life in Prison

Combs was initially indicted on September 17, 2024, facing multiple felony charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Prosecutors allege that Combs operated a criminal enterprise through his various businesses, including Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Enterprises, and Combs Global.

Authorities claim that Combs and his associates used firearms, intimidation tactics, threats of violence, and physical, emotional, and sexual abuse to lure and control victims. The indictment further alleges that he coerced victims into participating in what he referred to as “Freak Offs,” involving extended sexual encounters with male commercial sex workers.

If convicted, Combs could face a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, with a maximum penalty of life behind bars.

Homeland Security Raid and Legal Defense Strategy

The case against Combs escalated in March 2024 when Homeland Security agents raided his Los Angeles mansion. The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of sex trafficking and other criminal activities tied to Combs’ business empire.

Combs has consistently denied all allegations, with his legal team maintaining his innocence. Defense attorneys are expected to argue that any sexual encounters involving Combs were consensual, a strategy legal analysts say may be his best chance at avoiding a conviction.

What Comes Next?

With Ricco’s departure from the defense team, Combs’ legal strategy remains under scrutiny. While his remaining attorneys continue preparing for the trial, the loss of an experienced lawyer so close to the court date could present unforeseen challenges.

As the trial approaches, public and media interest in the case continues to grow. With serious charges and high stakes, the legal proceedings against Combs are set to be one of the most closely watched celebrity court cases in recent history.
