Rylan Clark, the host of ITV’s daytime show This Morning, made a rare comment about his mum Linda during a recent episode.
On Tuesday (August 13), Rylan was presenting the show with Josie Gibson when they started a conversation with a group of Olympic athletes. One of them had been trained by Rylan’s own mother, prompting him to make a confession about Linda’s parenting style.
He confessed that if his mother had been his coach for the Olympics, it would have been a disaster, as he would have likely knocked over the Olympic cauldron in a significant mishap.
He questioned: “How is that [being trained by a parent]? Because I could not think of anything worse than my mum coaching me to try and win an Olympic medal. Could you imagine Linda?!”
“I mean, I’d probably knock the cauldron over. The torch would go out. It would be terrible. But yours know what they’re talking about, they’re incredible at the sport themselves,” reports the Mirror.

Last year, she also had a terrifying fall while on holiday and was rushed to hospital for an emergency procedure.
Now, the 71 year old is reportedly “recovering” from her injuries.
Rylan Clark opened up about a distressing incident in 2023, revealing: “So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she’s had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out here,” he wrote.

He continued, detailing the complications due to her health: “She’s not in the best health with her other conditions and this has made it more complicated.”
Emphasising his family commitment, he added: “My priority at the moment is my mum. Praying for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.”
The illness meant that Linda was only able to attend one X Factor live show to watch her son.
