Ruth Langsford is keeping a vow to love herself more amid her split from Eamonn Holmes as she packs a healthy meal ahead of an upcoming Loose Women appearance.
Ruth Langsford has shared a rare insight into her diet just days after opening up about her “struggle” with weight gain.
The presenter revealed exactly how she fuels a busy afternoon on air as she gears up to return to ITV.
Ruth, 64, has confirmed she’ll return to chair Monday’s episode (August 19) of ITV’s Loose Women.
She announced she’d been booked for the panel show while showing off her “Sunday night food prep”.
In a video posted to the star’s 1.1 million Instagram followers, the mother-of-one detailed exactly what she’d be eating ahead of the programme.
Her packed lunch included a green smoothie and a Tupperware box filled with hardboiled eggs, cherry tomatoes and slices of ham.
In another box, she’d prepared a green salad with more eggs while a yellow bottle labelled ‘Dressing’ and a full water bottle could also be seen. Ruth’s diet plan comes after she recently revealed menopause had caused her to “thicken up”.
Speaking about her relationship with her body, the former This Morning presenter said: “I’ve never really had huge problems with weight gain, so I’ve been very lucky in my life.
“I like good food so I eat well and I cook, but the weight gain and the shape change in menopause I’ve really struggled with and I try really hard.”
“Everybody talks about body positivity and to love yourself, but sometimes I look in the mirror and I don’t love myself,” she continued to tell Woman Magazine.
“I look and go, ‘I’ve got no waist any more, I’ve got thick, fat knees. ‘I’ve thickened up’ as my mum would say and I don’t love it.”
Since splitting from Northern Irish broadcaster Eamonn Holmes, 64, earlier this summer, Ruth has vowed to become more active.
She has since taken part in a gruelling charity walk for the Alzheimer’s Society and has also been hard at work learning from her personal trainer, Fit with Frank.
