Loose Women host Ruth Langsford recalled her son Jack’s past 16th birthday party on Tuesday’s ITV show, where the youngster was “fuming” after she gatecrashed with pizza
Ruth Langsford admitted her son Jack was “fuming” after she gatecrashed his 16th birthday party with pizza.
On Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women, Ruth, 63, and her fellow panellists were discussing the topic: “Can you be a friend and a parent to your child?”, which prompted Ruth to recall her son’s, who is now 21, past sixteenth birthday celebration. Ruth shares Jack with husband Eamonn Holmes.
Talking about children’s birthday parties, Ruth said: “Jack did not want me to be there! I always remember, I think it was his sixteenth birthday or something he had friends over.
“I said I’d get pizzas, they were all [there], they had the kitchen, and Eamonn and I were in another room. Pizzas arrived and I went in, and because I know all his friends, they were like: ‘Oh, hi Ruth!’

“So I’m chatting away, handing out the pizza, I looked over, caught Jack’s eye and he went [while whispering]: ‘Go away!’, [he was] fuming, fuming! Literally, didn’t want me in there, didn’t think it was cool! He was just like: ‘Go away!’”
It comes as Loose Women took an awkward turn on Tuesday when host Ruth accidentally made a This Morning blunder. Prior to the ITV chat show starting, This Morning hosts Sian Welby and Dermot O’Leary headed to the studio to see what Ruth and her co-stars had in store on the programme today.
However, upon reading out the lineup, Ruth said: “Hello, yes, coming up on This Morning… not This Morning! You’re This Morning, we’re Loose Women. Force of habit, sorry!”
This Morning fans will recall that Ruth used to host the show on Fridays and holidays, alongside husband Eamonn from 1999 to 2022. Ruth remains as a host on Loose Women, where she has worked since 1999.
Elsewhere, new This Morning presenter Sian, 37, has sweetly praised Ruth for her support. The radio star, who is currently a host on the Capital FM Breakfast show after replacing Vick Hope, is one in a long line of presenters who have stepped in to help fill the void left by Holly Willoughby. This Morning bosses have been conducting a series of live auditions to see who best fits the ITV show.
