Love Island Star Hits Back at Backlash Over Alleged Fake Grace Jackson Messages

Former Love Island star Mitch Taylor has responded to the criticism he faced after sharing what many claim to be “fake” messages from Love Island: All Stars finalist Grace Jackson.
The controversy arose after Grace, 26, who finished as a runner-up on the ITV2 show alongside Luca Bish,
was accused of saying she would do “whatever it takes to win” before entering the villa in South Africa.
The Controversy Unfolds
During Sunday’s episode, when previously dumped Islanders returned, Olivia Hawkins, 29, confronted Grace with the alleged messages.
Olivia claimed: “I’ve seen text messages of Grace just saying to someone that she will do whatever it takes to win the show this time.”
She further insisted that the messages came from “someone back home.”
Grace, however, denied the accusations, asserting: “That is absolutely not true. I do not care about winning the show.” She also challenged Olivia to provide proof, saying: “I would love to see them.” According to Grace, any such messages must have been forged.
When asked about the matter during the live finale by host Maya Jama, Olivia stood by her claims, stating: “I’ve seen them. I’ve said what I said. You know me, I’m very straight-talking. But I honestly wish them the best.” Grace, once again, denied the claims.
Mitch Taylor’s Involvement
Amidst the ongoing drama, Mitch, 27—who previously appeared on Love Island in 2023—was asked if he had access to the supposed “receipts” proving Grace’s alleged intentions. Responding via Snapchat, Mitch said: “If someone sends them to me, I’ll happily put them on Snap, IDGAF.”
Shortly after, Mitch shared what appeared to be a screen recording of an Instagram conversation allegedly involving Grace. The supposed message from Grace read: “Aww thank you babe. I will win this time! I’ll do anything to.” This fueled further speculation, with fans questioning the authenticity of the screenshots.
Following the Love Island: All Stars final, which was won by Casey O’Gorman and Gabby Allen, Mitch was once again asked for clarification. He responded on Snapchat: “I don’t know who the receipts are from, I got sent it loads. All I know is Casey and Gabby won.”
When asked whether he believed the messages were real, Mitch dismissed the discussion, replying: “Don’t care, Casey and Gabby won.”
Backlash and Online Criticism
Mitch’s actions quickly sparked outrage among Love Island fans, with many accusing him of fabricating the messages to aid Casey’s victory. One social media user wrote: “Mitch went on live to say that this is fake and that he posted it just to help Casey win. Now what? I hope Grace sues them all.” Another added: “They’re fake. He made it up for his mate to win. Watch his recent.”
According to reports from Capital, Mitch addressed the accusations on TikTok, responding to a comment stating: “He admitted he posted fake DMs of Grace, this is beyond the show and defamation.” Mitch refuted the claim, replying: “No, I didn’t. I said I dunno if they’re real or not, stfu x.”
Criticism against Mitch escalated across various platforms, including Instagram, where some users left harsh comments under his posts with his girlfriend, Hayley Griffin. Some even wished for his relationship to fail, while others sent him deeply disturbing messages, including death threats.
Mitch Responds to the Hate
Amid the backlash, Mitch took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday morning to address the situation. He stated: “Morning guys, the hate/death threats don’t bother me, but please stop sending hate and death threats to Hayley. I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with the public, but keep the beef on me—don’t involve my girlfriend. I appreciate you all.”
Despite his attempt to clarify his stance, the controversy remains a hot topic within the Love Island fan community. While Mitch insists he was merely sharing messages he received without verifying their authenticity, many believe his actions contributed to a smear campaign against Grace Jackson. Whether or not any legal action follows remains to be seen, but for now, the drama surrounding Love Island: All Stars continues to make headlines.
