Michael Strahan is being slammed as a “l.i.a.r” after evidence surfaced that he didn’t leave GMA to “focus on” his daughter’s health—did he actually join a rival company?

Michael Strahan has built a career that spans multiple industries, from professional sports to

television hosting, acting, and even fashion. However, his latest revelation on Good Morning America took many by surprise. The former NFL star, who has seamlessly transitioned into one of the most recognizable faces on morning television, stunned viewers when he hinted at an unexpected new ambition—becoming the next James Bond.

During Thursday’s episode of GMA, Strahan sat down for an interview with Amazon’s

president and CEO, Andy Jassy. While the conversation initially focused on Amazon’s business ventures, Strahan skillfully pivoted to the company’s acquisition of the James Bond franchise, a move that reportedly cost the tech giant a staggering $1 billion. As the discussion turned toward the future of the iconic 007 role, Strahan couldn’t resist making his case for the part.

When asked who might take on the coveted role of the next Bond, Jassy flipped the question back to Strahan. Without missing a beat, Strahan pointed at himself and confidently declared, “You’re looking at him. I’m here.” Jassy, amused by Strahan’s bold claim, asked if he was both available and interested. Strahan, ever the showman, responded enthusiastically: “All of those things.”

While it’s unlikely that Strahan will be donning the tuxedo and sipping martinis as the next Bond, his comment wasn’t entirely out of left field. The former New York Giants defensive end has dabbled in acting before. He made a memorable appearance in Magic Mike XXL, had a guest role on the hit series Black-ish, and even made a cameo in the 2019 reboot of Charlie’s Angels. His natural charisma and commanding presence make it easy to see why he might entertain the idea of stepping into an action-packed role.

However, Strahan already has a packed schedule, balancing multiple high-profile commitments. In addition to co-hosting Good Morning America, he serves as a sports commentator on Fox NFL Sunday, hosts the game show The $100,000 Pyramid, and runs a successful clothing line and men’s skincare range. With so many responsibilities, adding a major movie role to his plate would be no small feat.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Strahan is also a devoted father. He has four children, and in recent years, he has been increasingly vocal about the importance of family time. His daughter Isabella’s recent battle with brain cancer has given him a new perspective on life, reminding him of the value of time and the fleeting nature of moments spent with loved ones.

In a candid interview with Forbes, Strahan admitted that retirement has been on his mind, though he has no plans to step away from the spotlight just yet. He spoke about the idea of a “soft landing,” explaining that he doesn’t intend to abruptly quit all his professional commitments but rather ease out of them gradually. “I won’t go cold turkey on everything, but I see myself slowly dropping different things until eventually, you’ll just find me on the golf course,” he shared.

Reflecting on his daughter’s health battle and the challenges of balancing work with personal life, Strahan has become more intentional about how he spends his time. “Time is the one thing that once it’s gone, you can never get it back,” he said. “I’m very conscious of that, being a dad. That’s what has led me to think more about the end of my career. I don’t want to be someone who’s on TV at 80 years old. It’s an absolute pleasure and privilege to be able to have that option. But I can get more of everything in life except for time.”

When he does decide to step back, Strahan envisions a life filled with travel, relaxation, and quality time with loved ones. “I like company, I like vacations. I’m at the point in life when I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to work forever; I want to enjoy life at some point,” he said.

For now, though, Strahan remains as busy as ever, juggling his various professional roles with his responsibilities as a father. Whether or not he ever gets a call from the Bond producers remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—Michael Strahan is always ready for a new challenge.
