Matthew Perry ‘s death could unravel a drug dealing underworld in Hollywood, sources claim.

The Friends actor’s sudden death last October shocked the world. The beloved 54-year-old star died from “acute effects of ketamine” and was found dead in his hot tub at his Los Angeles home.

After his death, an investigation involving the Los Angeles Police Department, the US Drug Enforcement Administration, and the US Postal Inspection Service was initiated.

Officials are attempting to learn through the investigation who administered the fatal amount of ketamine to Matthew.

Tracy Walder, a former special agent for the CIA and FBI, told Page Six that numerous individuals might face charges. She described the recent surge in drug networks that use mail fraud to transmit prescription medications via post, which is a federal offense. Because there could be involuntary manslaughter charges, the sentence could be up to five year behind bars. Matthew took the ketamine himself, which means no murder charges.

She said: “Intent is going to be the question. They obviously knew what they were doing was wrong [by drug dealing]. However, did they actively know that by procuring this it would kill him?”

Tracy added: “Using the mail to commit a crime is more common than you think. People pay a heap of money to buy drugs… say, someone gets a legal prescription for ketamine and maybe has a $20 copay on insurance, then decides to sell the prescription for $10k because this junkie needs it and they know he has the money. There is big money to be made…. There are whole networks, it’s really disturbing. It’s now easier to get drugs by mail than fake an identity.”

Matthew could have been swapping prescriptions with friends and had an assistant pick up the drugs, according to Tracy.

Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller was questioned by police about her friendship to Matthew but not accused of anything. She was reportedly “brought in for questioning” after officials took an iPhone and laptop from her room at a sober living house. Brooke reportedly was “completely cooperative with authorities” and shared that the two met in rehab and “formed an unexpected friendship.”

A second female celebrity has also reportedly been linked to Matthew’s death after claims of a shared drug addiction between the two, according to InTouch. A source told the outlet that this woman and Matthew appeared to be sober to those around them but were “walking pharmacies.” The two allegedly had various late night talks about their lives and struggles with addictions. There’s also an alleged photo of the two at the office of a doctor who prescribes ketamine.

InTouch reports: “The source believes Matthew and the second celebrity pal may have ‘aided’ each other by referring each other to their respective doctors whenever their own drug supply ran low.”

Tracy feels sad for Matthew but those who “fed off his weakness are problematic.” She “would love to see some kind of felony conviction for the people that were procuring the drugs for him, something that is going to stick with them for the rest of their lives.”
