Loose Women fans hit out at Kéllé Bryan for seemingly ‘trolling’ Ruth Lansford as she spoke about remaining friends with an ex after a break-up.

Ruth and estranged husband Eamonn Holmes both 64, announced their plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage back in May and it later emerged that he was dating  relationship therapist Katie Alexander, 42.

On Monday’s episode of the ITV daytime show, the panel including Ruth, Kéllé, Coleen Nolan and Kelly Holmes, discussed the joy of finding someone you know will be a lifelong friend, referring to the unlikely friendship between Dame Judi Dench and Jay Blade amid their new series.

While the rest of the panel shared their experiences with long time school friends, Kéllé went on to talk about people maintaining friendships after they had split, noting it was a ‘unique’ thing for people to remain close.

But while the Eternal singer meant no harm with her words, Loose Women viewers were quick to call her out for discussing the sensitive subject in front of Ruth, who is going through a high profile break-up and was still wearing her wedding ring.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, they made their feelings about Kéllé’s words clear.

They penned: ‘Is Bryant trolling Ruth regarding her recent breakup??’

‘Oops Kelle, talking about being friends after break ups.’

 

 

‘Oh remained friends after a break up Ruth.’

Sharing her thoughts on the panel, Kéllé said: ‘It’s quite unique when you date someone or have a relationship with somebody and then you go on to have a friendship after that. That’s quite a unique thing, especially if you’ve shared quite a lot during that relationship.

‘Sometimes breakups can be quite nasty and you go your own way, but if you can find your way back or have something that keeps you in common, and you still remain friends after that relationship has broken up, there’s something about the longevity of that…

‘The jokes, the laughter, the things that you’ve shared, the experiences that only you two have had., for me that’s a [powerful thing.’

The former Hollyoaks actress then went on to discuss her good friendship with a former boyfriend called Dean.

Meanwhile, Ruth shared her love of her old school pals, who’ve been by her side for over 50 years, remarking: ‘They have been there through thick and thin, all of us has had something happened in our lives.’

Ruth put on a very glamorous display on the show as she showcased her new hairstyle following a recent visit to the hair salon.

Donning a chic red blazer, Ruth cut a stylish figure as she hosted the show shortly after her makeover.

Ruth revealed to her Instagram fans on Sunday that she’d added some length to her locks as her hairstylist was seen putting in new long extensions before chopping them down to her signature shoulder length.

After having her locks curled, she seemed in good spirits as she showed off the stunning new do to her 1.1million followers.

It comes as the ex-husband of Eamonn’s new girlfriend Katie Alexander has broken his silence on his former wife’s new relationship.

George Alexander, who split from Katie before she began dating the GB News host, said he had a ‘lot of sympathy’ for Ruth.

Speaking to The Sun George, who was married to Katie between 2010 and 2022, said: ‘I have a lot of sympathy for Ruth’.

‘I have had my heart broken when my marriage to Katie ended’.

Adding: ‘It took me a couple of years to recover. I know how distraught Ruth must be feeling. She’s going through what I did after our marriage ended.’

George also insisted his former wife ‘had a heart’ so would no doubt take Ruth’s feelings into consideration.

MailOnline have contacted Katie’s reps for comment.

It comes following MailOnline revealing that Katie was said to be desperate to go public with the romance but Eamonn, has been delaying announcing the news in order to protect his estranged wife’s feelings.eelings.

George, who was married to Katie between 2010 and 2022, said: ‘I have a lot of sympathy for Ruth’

He host is instead limiting their dates to time spent in his new apartment in Richmond.

As a result Katie is said to be frustrated by having to spend so much time in Eamonn’s boiling hot apartment and not being able speak publicly about their romance.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Katie wants the world to see they’re a couple but Eamonn is keeping things low-key at the moment.’

The insider continued: ‘It’s pretty hot in [his apartment] because he has no air-con so she’d love to go out and enjoy dates in public.

‘Eamonn is excited about their relationship but he wants to remain respectful by not going public yet.’

Eamonn’s representatives declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.
