Lara Trump from Fox News revealed she DECLINED two calls from Trump after airing the first episode of My View with Lara Trump. Why?

Lara Trump has made a high-profile return to television, reclaiming her place at Fox News

Channel with a new opinion show, My View with Lara Trump. The program, which premiered on February 22 at 9 p.m. ET, marks her reentry into broadcasting after serving as co-chair of the Republican National Committee. By stepping into this role, she has chosen to forgo

potential opportunities in her father-in-law President Donald Trump’s second administration,

including a Cabinet position or a bid for the U.S. Senate. Notably, her new role makes history as she becomes the first immediate family member of a sitting U.S. president to host a television program.

Trump, who is married to President Trump’s middle son, Eric, and a mother of two, describes her show as an effort to bring greater transparency to political discourse. In an interview with USA TODAY, she emphasized that her goal is to provide insight into issues in a way that has not been done before. She pointed to Donald Trump’s presidency as an example of transparency, arguing that his administration set a precedent in that regard.

Throughout her career, Trump has shown a willingness to step outside traditional conservative media spaces. She made headlines for her viral appearance on The Breakfast Club, a platform not typically associated with right-leaning figures. She intends to continue this approach on My View, expressing interest in inviting Democrats onto the show and even interviewing the president himself.

Despite its early success, My View has not been without controversy. Critics quickly responded to her return to Fox News, with The Daily Beast accusing her of attempting to portray Donald Trump as a champion of feminism by featuring women associated with his administration, including Pam Bondi, Tulsi Gabbard, and Karoline Leavitt. Meanwhile, The New Yorker labeled her The New Trump-Family Megaphone. Trump dismissed these critiques, saying that scrutiny is expected whenever a member of the Trump family is involved in a project. She insisted that amplifying her family’s message is not the intent of her show.

Regardless of the backlash, My View has already demonstrated its popularity. As left-leaning news outlets like MSNBC and CNN undergo staffing changes, Fox News has leveraged Trump’s appeal to draw significant viewership. According to Nielsen ratings, My View became the most-watched cable program during its debut weekend, surpassing ESPN’s college basketball coverage with an impressive 2.4 million viewers—an impressive feat as March Madness approaches.

President Trump has been vocal in his support of his daughter-in-law’s new venture. Lara Trump shared that he personally called her twice to praise the show, though she humorously admitted that she missed both calls due to her phone being dead and being in transit. She expressed gratitude for his encouragement and acknowledged his belief that her audience would grow even larger once he appears as a guest.

With its strong debut and a built-in audience eager for conservative commentary, My View with Lara Trump is already making waves in the cable news landscape. As she continues to shape her show’s direction, it remains to be seen how it will evolve and how she will navigate the inevitable scrutiny that comes with being both a Trump and a media figure in a politically charged climate.
