King Charles has had little communication with Prince Harry but is still open to reconciliation with his youngest son, it has been reported.
Prince Harry’s seemingly distant relationship with King Charles is cemented by the fact the Duke of Sussex has to make an appointment to see his father.
Royal author, Duncan Larcombe, said Harry is being “subtly punished” with the “stand-off approach.”
Harry stepped down as a senior working royal back in early 2020 and now lives in the US with Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The 39-year-old has made several trips to the UK since but has reportedly made very little, if any, contact with his family.
According to Mr Larcombe, who spoke around the time of the first anniversary of the death of the late Queen, Harry is being “punished” by his father in a very slight manner, by simply requesting he make an appointment to meet up.
As reported by the Mirror, he said: “It appears that King Charles’ approach towards Harry now is business as usual – ‘if you want to see me you need to make an appointment’.
“Harry will have to get past the grey suits and jump through hoops to talk to his father. It’s very stand-offish but I think that’s a way that the King is subtly punishing his son.”
Unlike their father, Prince William is said to be not so keen to back down as forgive his brother, who he has reportedly not seen since the late Queen’s funeral in 2022.
The Sun previously reported that Mr Larcombe said: “It’s remarkable really, because when Charles became King he said he loved Harry and Meghan which was a huge olive branch – which Harry then took, snapped in half and then hit him with it…
“The King is still keeping those channels of communication open, where William isn’t.”
Meghan and Harry now live in a multi-million-pound home in Montecito with Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Despite the strained communication between King Charles and Prince Harry, there is still hope for reconciliation between the two. Despite the fact that Prince Harry has to schedule appointments to see his father, King Charles remains open to repairing their relationship.
Since stepping down as a senior working royal in 2020, Prince Harry has been residing in the US with Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Despite making trips to the UK, Harry has reportedly had very little contact with his family, especially King Charles.
According to Royal author Duncan Larcombe, the relationship between father and son has become distant, with King Charles taking a stand-offish approach by requiring appointments for meetings. This subtle form of punishment reflects the current state of their relationship.
On the other hand, Prince William is not as eager to reconcile with his brother, having not seen him since the late Queen’s funeral in 2022. Despite this, King Charles has expressed his love for Harry and Meghan, keeping channels of communication open, unlike his son William.
Meghan and Harry now reside in a lavish home in Montecito with their two children, continuing to navigate their lives away from the royal spotlight. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing royal saga.
