Kelly Ripa never misses an opportunity to poke fun at her husband, Mark Consuelos, and his latest role in Scream 7 was no exception. 

On a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa playfully interrogated her co-host and real-life spouse about his involvement in the highly anticipated horror sequel.

Ripa’s Amused Reaction to Consuelos’ Casting

The news that Consuelos had joined the cast of Scream 7 came as a surprise to many—including his wife. 

Ripa wasted no time addressing it on-air, kicking off the conversation with a teasing remark:

“Is that what you’ve been doing behind my back?” she quipped, prompting laughter from the audience.

Consuelos, clearly thrilled about the role, shared that he had an incredible experience working with Scream creator and director Kevin Williamson. Though he remained tight-lipped about the plot, he did confirm that franchise veterans Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox would be returning as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers, respectively.

As an actress and television host, Ripa knows how to get answers—but Consuelos was determined not to spill any Scream 7 secrets. That didn’t stop Ripa from trying, though.

“You are the killer, right? Do you die?” she asked, her curiosity in full force.

Consuelos, prepared for her questions, responded with mock frustration:

“I can’t tell you anything! Don’t try… to get it out of me.”

But Ripa wasn’t giving up so easily.

“But you’re probably the killer, right?” she pressed.

Consuelos, knowing he was in dangerous territory, avoided eye contact and repeated, “I can’t tell you anything. I can’t even look at you!”

“Because you kill them?” she asked after he mentioned working with Campbell and Cox.

“Are you death-adjacent?”

Michael Consuelos’ Excitement for His Dad’s Role

While Consuelos wasn’t giving anything away, he did share that his son, Michael, was beyond thrilled about his involvement in Scream 7.

“He was so excited. He said, ‘Dad, I manifested this for you,’” Consuelos revealed.

But this only gave Ripa another angle to pursue.

“Does he know if you’re the killer?” she asked, trying once more to get a hint about the plot.

Consuelos stood firm, reassuring her and the audience that Michael knew just as much as everyone else—nothing.

Theories Fly as Consuelos Tries to Change the Subject

At one point, Consuelos attempted to shift the conversation to his co-star, Joel McHale, but Ripa saw it as another opportunity to dig deeper.

“Is he the killer?” she asked, narrowing her eyes.

Consuelos, maintaining his composure, responded vaguely:

“I don’t know, I don’t know. He plays Neve Campbell’s husband.”

But Ripa had one more theory to share:

“And when you hung out with him, was it because you killed him?”

Consuelos, finally exasperated, threw up his hands and laughed.

“Yes, no, maybe. I can’t say anything!”

Realizing he was at risk of accidentally letting something slip, Consuelos quickly moved the conversation along to other topics, leaving Ripa and the audience amused by his secrecy.
