In her latest podcast episode, former glamour model and TV personality Katie Price, now 46,
opened up about her nostalgia for 90s music after hearing the news that boyband Five is reuniting — 25 years after their split. As she reflected on the comeback of some of her favorite bands from that era, Katie admitted she was surprised to realize that many of those musicians are now the same age as her.
She spoke candidly about how aging has begun to feel more real for her, especially when it
comes to her body. Despite her youthful appearance, which she credits to multiple cosmetic surgeries and tweaks, she acknowledged that the reality inside tells a different story. “When Five are coming back and the Boyzone thing — did you see that?” she said to listeners. “So we’re all looking so much older, and I think, ‘They’re the same age as me,’ but I still don’t feel I’m old.”
However, she went on to admit that, deep down, she knows time has taken its toll. “I know I am [getting older] because even my body inside is going through the menopause. So I’m not a young spring chicken, it doesn’t matter how young I think I look, what tracksuit I put on and whatever. My body is old! It’s scary, isn’t it? Inside my body it is ageing but the outside is fresh,” she added, reflecting on the contrast between her physical appearance and how she feels internally.
Beyond her thoughts on aging, Katie recently faced a heartbreaking personal experience. Earlier this month, she revealed to The Sun that she had suffered a miscarriage at 46. The mother of five explained that doctors had previously told her she had only a 1% chance of conceiving naturally due to perimenopause. Despite the odds, she unexpectedly became pregnant over Christmas with her boyfriend JJ Slater — a moment that initially brought both joy and disbelief.
Katie recounted how she first suspected she was pregnant when she missed her period on Boxing Day, something unusual for her since she described herself as “so regular every 28 days.” She started experiencing classic pregnancy symptoms — sore breasts, bloating, mood swings, and nausea — leading her to take multiple pregnancy tests. Each positive result brought cautious excitement for both her and JJ, though Katie noticed the lines on the tests weren’t getting darker, a worrying sign she recognized from previous pregnancies.
Her fears were tragically confirmed during a visit to a clinic. Blood tests and a scan revealed that while the pregnancy had begun, the baby was no longer viable. “It’s been devastating,” she shared, explaining the emotional rollercoaster of going from the joy of discovering she could conceive naturally to the heartbreak of losing the pregnancy.
This miscarriage was especially cruel for Katie, marking her fourth, alongside a past ectopic pregnancy. Despite the emotional and physical toll, she remains determined to try again. She has vowed to pursue IVF treatment and continue trying for a sixth child with JJ until she is medically deemed “too old” to do so.
In her interview with The Sun, Katie expressed her hope of raising awareness for other women experiencing similar struggles. She has teamed up with the UK’s leading pregnancy and research support charity, Tommy’s, to help support mothers facing miscarriages and infertility challenges.
Reflecting on her loss, Katie admitted she wasn’t sure how to process her emotions. “It’s been hard. Did I cry or not? I don’t really know, but I was just really sad because we went from joy and relief that I could get pregnant naturally, to confusion, heartbreak, and sadness,” she said.
Katie explained that she and JJ hadn’t even been actively trying to conceive because they didn’t believe it was possible. “Last year I’d been told I was perimenopausal and that there was only a 1% chance I could get pregnant naturally, so me and JJ didn’t really think I would. We weren’t even trying.”
Her candid recollection paints a picture of hope and heartbreak intertwined. She described JJ’s excitement and their shared disbelief when the pregnancy tests kept coming back positive. “He was so, so excited,” she said. But the excitement soon turned to worry when the pregnancy tests didn’t darken as they should have.
Her worst fears were confirmed at the clinic. “We went to a clinic for blood tests and a scan, and the scan showed where the baby was — but that it wasn’t alive anymore,” she revealed.
Though the loss has been painful, Katie’s determination remains unshaken. She continues to hold on to the hope of having one more child and is committed to helping other women facing the emotional weight of miscarriage. Her story, raw and unfiltered, serves as a reminder of the silent grief many endure and the resilience it takes to keep hoping for brighter days ahead.
