Kate Garraway was overcome with emotion as she delivered an emotional tribute to the Southport stabbing victims on Monday’s Good Morning Britain.
The breakfast TV host, 57, fought back tears as she and co-host Richard Madeley spoke about Alice da Silva Aguiar’s funeral, who was one of three little girls stabbed to death at a dance class in Southport.
Hundreds of mourners lined the streets to remember nine-year-old Alice after a knifeman entered a Taylor Swift-themed event on Hart Street on July 29 and carried out a terrifying stabbing spree.
She was killed alongside Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven. Ten others were seriously injured.
Half way through the show, Kate struggled to catch her breath as she recalled the ‘unbelievably moving’ tribute to Alice.

She told viewers: ‘Good morning. The parents of Alice da Silver Aguiar, one of the three girls murdered at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport called for no more violence at an emotional funeral for their daughter.’
Richard added: ‘As we know, violent protests followed the deaths, all over the country, after misinformation online said that the suspect was an asylum seeker who’d arrived in the UK by boat – which is complete nonsense.
‘Addressing the mourners, the Chief Constable of Merseyside did not mince her words – she told rioters to hang their heads in shame.’
Branding the scene in Southport, surrounded by flowers, Richard branded the funeral ‘unbelievably moving’.
He added: ‘The whole community gathered to remember this beautiful, beautiful nine-year-old.’
Viewers at home noticed Kate become visibly emotional and penned on X: ‘Bit late this morning so have rewound #gmb to the start and bless Kate, you can tell she’s trying not to cry when talking about that little girl from Southport. So so so sad.’
Photos from Sunday saw hundreds of devastated mourners arriving outside St Patrick’s Church in Southport for the funeral of Alice — described as a ‘princess’ by her heartbroken family.
The little girl’s parents Sergio and Alexandra have been joined by hundreds of family members and friends at the packed-out church.

Among those who also gathered to pay their respects were Serena Kennedy, Chief Constable of Merseyside Police, alongside uniformed officers from the police, ambulance and fire services.
The grieving crowd could be seen carrying flowers and pink balloons and were dressed in light colours.
A white coffin decorated with pink roses was carried into the church for the funeral which began at 2pm. Pink ribbons and balloons were tied to lampposts and garden walls.
