Josie Gibson was left flustered on Friday’s This Morning after actor Lucien Laviscount showed off his accent ahead of the return of Emily in Paris next week
Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle delivered a fresh dose of entertainment on This Morning’s Friday show as they welcomed Lucien Laviscount.
The actor is gearing up to reinvigorate his role as Alfie in the much-anticipated return of Emily in Paris next week. The charm wasn’t lost on the presenters as Craig couldn’t help but express his surprise at Lucien’s genuine accent, pointing out: “I expected you to sound like him.”
The Burnley-born actor cheekily retorted: “Oh no, I’m from Burnley. I feel like I let people down when I talk. I’m like, ‘Alright mate, you alright? ‘ and they’re like, ‘nah, it can’t be him.’”

With insistence, Craig pleaded: “Give us a bit of Alfie, can you give us a bit of Alfie from London,” cueing Lucien to slip into a smooth Cockney tone. Josie was visibly shaken by the transition, quipping: “Cor, that has done something to me there.”
The playful exchange escalated as Lucien’s laughter echoed while Josie found herself momentarily speechless. Craig jested for someone to read her mind, but Josie promptly advised against it, playfully commenting: “I wouldn’t, I wouldn’t.”
Following a quick apology from Josie, Lucien humorously observed: “See the Burnley just doesn’t have the same affect,” to which Josie confidently assured him with a twinkle in her eye, “It does but that was something else.”

Amid all the banter, Lucien also spilled some beans about his character, reports the Mirror.
Despite Alfie’s relationship woes with Emily in the season three finale, the star revealed that Alfie remains devoted to what’s best for Emily and intriguingly hinted at the emergence of a new romantic contender.
The episode of This Morning took an awkward turn when Josie Gibson brought the show to a halt just minutes in, as viewers expressed their dismay at what they dubbed the “worst start” to the programme.
The opening featured 90s music and saw Josie and Craig Doyle, alongside Tim Campbell and Gyles Brandreth, dancing energetically.

Viewers quickly took to social media to voice their opinions, with one tweeting: “Is this the worst opening segment to a This Morning episode in history? ” Another disgruntled fan posted: “#ThisMorning Worst start to a show ever.”
