Katie Price could be facing serious health complications after undergoing her sixth facelift in Turkey, according to reports.
The former glamour model has been spotted for the first time without her bandages after spending £10,000 on a facelift.
For the surgery, she flew to Turkey despite being warned that she would be arrested if she missed her latest hearing as part of her £760,000 bankruptcy case.
That said, Katie was arrested when she landed back in the UK and has been spotted on several occasions as her recovery from the cosmetic operation continues.
She has spoken in great length about her love for cosmetic surgeries and recently went for her 17th boob job, according to the Mirror.
Professor of facial plastic surgery Ullas Raghavan, from Pall Mall Medical, revealed to the Mirror the harsh realities and potential dangers associated with the pursuit of physical perfection.
“Undergoing procedures like breast augmentation, tummy tucks, nose jobs or facelifts abroad might seem appealing, but can complicate your recovery,” he explained. “While not all are life threatening, we are seeing a rise in botched procedures that present patients with difficult outcomes.
“In almost every clinic, I encounter someone whose procedure was botched abroad. There are also numerous complications that can arise from overseas surgeries. For starters, the heat can cause excessive sweating, which isn’t ideal for healing. Moisture can interfere with the healing process and increase the risk of infection, as bacteria thrive in warm, damp environments.
“Additionally, heat can exacerbate swelling and discomfort, prolonging recovery. Dehydration from hot climates can further delay healing and increase pain. If you’re planning surgery in a warm location, it’s crucial to stay cool, hydrated, and avoid excessive sun exposure to support a smooth recovery.”
He warned of the importance of post-operative care, adding: “One of the major concerns is the challenge of getting proper follow-up care or revisions if the surgery goes wrong. Follow-up appointments are critical for monitoring your recovery and addressing any issues early on.
“However, if your procedure was performed overseas, returning to see your surgeon can be challenging, potentially leaving you without essential care. This can lead to higher risks of complications, such as infections or delayed healing, and might affect your overall satisfaction with the results.”
Katie has undergone numerous cosmetic surgeries in the past and has previously admitted she thinks she struggles with body dysmorphia. She said last month: “I’m not content now, I’m having more surgery next week. My mum says I’ve got body dysmorphia. I don’t think I ever look in the mirror and think I look good. I ne never have done so there’s obviously an underlying issue.”
Katie spoke about these concerns at a launch event for her memoir This is me. Talking about an upcoming trip with her son Harvey, Katie said: “I’m taking him on holiday next week because I’m having my face done.” The TV star’s sister Sophie, who was hosting a Q&A with her sister, said: “Tell her she doesn’t need it!”
“I don’t care,” Katie hit back. “It’s what I want to do. I think I have body dysmorphia, I must have.”
