With her stalker convicted of his plot to kidnap and murder her, Holly Willoughby looks to be bracing for a new chapter in her life as she puts the horrifying ordeal behind her.
Holly, 43, helmed ITV’s This Morning for more than a decade whilst juggling her presenting role on Dancing On Ice with her former co-star Phillip Schofield.
The pair had a friendship that extended beyond the studio walls, but it came to a bitter end following Phillip’s shocking revelation of his affair with a former ITV colleague.
Holly returned to the screens following the bombshell news, however, all appeared too much for her after the arrest of her stalker Gavin Plumb, who had plotted to kidnap, rape, and murder her.
In a state of unrest, Holly pulled out of hosting the daytime show in October last year and then took a break from her role and social media.
At the time, insiders claimed the show had been in a state of ‘chaos’ and the kidnap plot had driven Holly over the edge.
Following a lengthy hiatus, Holly returned to her Instagram page, where she often posted pictures of her outfits, to share the sad news she had quit This Morning after 14 years. Holly thanked viewers for their support – but said it was ‘the best decision for her and her family.’
But now, Holly appears to be looking to the future as she is set to front the new Netflix’s upcoming adventurer reality show Bear Hunt. The new survival series will star 49-year-old explorer Bear Grylls who will be joined by a string of celebs in a jungle in Costa Rica – while Holly Willoughby, 43, co-hosts in their joint TV venture.
The reality has been billed as an imitation of ITV’s long-running reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and is rumoured to be featuring Strictly’s Shirley Ballas, supermodel Leomie Anderson and ex-rugby star Danny Cipriani. Holly was spotted in Costa Rica filming for the show as she sported sunglasses, a plain t-shirt, grey shorts, and sneakers – but the TV star was warned of the possible dangers she might face in the jungle.
Back in May, insiders told The Sun: “The Bear Hunt is not for the faint hearted and all the celebrities who have signed up know they’re going to be heading into the wild where it’s teeming with animal nasties.
“As well as snakes like the venomous hog-nosed pit viper and spiders like the black widow and brown recluse, the jungle is also teeming with bats which can spread rabies.”
It seems the presenter could also be looking to focus on pursuits outside of television, including her lifestyle brand, Wylde Moon. Holly founded the brand in 2018, which then launched in 2021. It features a website full of curated content about her beauty, fashion, and family life recommendations.
Just yesterday, Holly’s vile stalker Gavin Plumb was found guilty of plotting to kidnap, rape and murder her. The ex-security guard wrote online about how kidnapping the TV presenter at her family home was his “ultimate fantasy”, having even purchased an “abduction kit” to carry out his twisted plan. A jury at Chelmsford Crown Court of eight women and four men have now found Plumb, 37, guilty of plotting to kidnap, rape and murder Holly. He wept as he was escorted away from the court. Plumb is due to be sentenced next Friday at the same court.
