Strictly Come Dancing fans have shared their “hope” for professional Neil Jones ahead of the brand-new series after fears have grown over his place.

Neil Jones has been at the centre of the Strictly Come Dancing family for eight years as of 2023.

However, fans have been left in despair over his fate on the BBC programme after they fear the 42-year-old will not be paired with a celebrity partner this autumn.

Despite his huge popularity with fans, he has only been paired with two partners. Back in 2020 he danced with the One Show’s Alex Jones and made it to the final five couples.

However, a year later, he was the first pro to be sent packing alongside actress Nina Wadia. Viewers have been sent into meltdown after fearing that he will miss out once again for a second year running.

Taking to social media, fans were quick to reveal their “hope” before taking a bitter swipe at Aljaž Škorjanec who has recently announced he would return to the ballroom after stepping down two years ago to focus on his family.

One user wrote on Facebook: “I hope he does.” A second agreed: “I hope so but probably not as there is not many women.” “I hope so he deserves it,” added a third.

A fourth person shared “He deserves to get a partner”. A fourth person picked up on his dazzling talent and claimed, “I hope he is brilliant.”

Aljaž, 34, who is married to It Takes Two host Janette Manrara was on Strictly for 9 years and was a firm favourite.

He raised the Glitterball in 2013 with Abbey Clancy during his debut year on the show. Then was a runner-up in 2017 with partner, Gemma Atkinson.

Following the big reveal that he was coming back it sparked some upset, another user penned: “If he doesn’t and Alijaz does it’s disgusting.”

Meanwhile, another predicted: “They have asked Alijaz to return because he was so popular so he will obviously get a partner.”

In a recent interview with the Radio Times he shared: “I think this is going to be my eighth series, and I’ve had two partners on the main show,

He continued: “I would honestly say to you, I love when I have a partner, and I love when I don’t have a partner.”

In an attempt to dispel the myths about being left out, he added: “When you don’t have a partner, a lot of people think you just sit at home.

“But you really don’t. On Strictly, they make sure you’ve got plenty to do.
