Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford has confirmed the death of her husband Stephen Way, saying he will leave an “enormous void”.
Eamonn Holmes has paid tribute to Gloria Hunniford’s husband Stephen Way in an emotional post.
The TV personality confirmed that her beloved husband of 25 years died after a battle with illness.
Mr Way was best-known as a celebrity hairdresser and tied the knot with Gloria in 1998.
Hunniford said: “Stephen was a gentleman and a giant of a man, who will leave the most enormous void not only in my life, but our entire family.
“He was an incredibly kind, generous, and caring man, with a delightfully quirky sense of humour, which remained till the end.
“We had a tremendously happy 25-year marriage and did so many beautiful and exciting things together that I will always cherish.”
Eamonn has sent an emotional message to Gloria on Instagram, sharing a photo of the happy couple. He penned: “I feel the pain of Gloria my dear friend of 40 plus years on the loss of Stephen – a true gent and a scholar. My genuine heartfelt condolences.”
Meanwhile, Gloria’s co-star Charlene White also wrote in a heart-felt tribute: ” Darling Gloria, I’m just so so sorry for the loss of your dear Stephen. The joy in your face everytime you even mentioned his name just showed the depth of love you had for each other. You were so lucky to have found each other. Sending you and the family our love xx.”
In a statement on Wednesday, Way’s family said in a statement: “It is with huge sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Stephen Way, Gloria’s beloved husband, who lost his battle yesterday afternoon.
“Stephen had been heroically fighting his illness… but always with great tenacity and a positive spirit.”
Gloria is one of Ruth Langford’s close colleagues as they both work on Loose Women together. Ruth recently called it quits with Eamonn earlier this year after 14 years of marriage.
