TV presenter Eamonn Holmes and his new girlfriend Katie Alexander have reportedly locked horns over one relationship issue.
Earlier this year, Eamonn and Ruth Langsford shocked fans when they announced their split after 28 years of dating and 14 years of marriage.
The GB News host was seen out with his new girlfriend Katie, 42, in recent weeks after they developed a friendship during his tough year.
However, the pair have grown closer in recent months following Eamonn’s split from his estranged wife Ruth, with her son recently confirming that they are together for the first time.
Despite their relationship being new, Katie and Eamonn have locked horns over whether to go public with their romance.
It was reported that Katie wanted to go public with their relationship but Eamonn, 64, has been delaying announcing the news as he doesn’t want to hurt Ruth’s feelings. According to reports, Eamonn has been making sure their dates and time spent together are in his apartment in Richmond.
“Katie wants the world to see they’re a couple but Eamonn is keeping things low-key at the moment,” a source told MailOnline before adding that Eamonn wants to ‘remain respectful by not going public yet’. The Mirror have reached out to Eamonn’s representatives for comment.
Meanwhile, Katie’s ex Michael Devine – who says he met her when she was 19 and he 59 – recently claimed that their 22-year-old son Ben told him that Katie is now dating Eamonn. “Ben told me Eamonn and Katie were together, but he doesn’t say much, he’s more interested in kicking a football around,” he told Mail Online. He remains on good terms with Katie despite splitting almost two decades ago.
Michael, who is now 81 years old, said it is “brilliant” that she found love with the former This Morning presenter. He added: “We’ve been split up for a lot of years now, but I see my son regularly, maybe once a week.” Mr Devine continued: “There are no hard feelings whatsoever towards Katie, she’s a nice woman, she really is. I wish her well. Absolutely brilliant, is Katie.”
Meanwhile, Katie was recently seen with a diamond ring on her wedding fingers and false rumours swirled that the pair were engaged. Sources close to the couple quickly shut down the rumours and confirmed the news to be untrue. However, the news is said to have still hurt Ruth, who was ’embarrassed’ about the entire situation.
