Coleen Nolan from Loose Women admitted she feels deep regret for not allowing her sister Linda Nolan to “p.a.s.s away more peacefully,” confessing during her latest appearance: “It’s all because I was too greedy…”

Linda Nolan, the beloved singer, actress, and member of the famous Nolan Sisters, has tragically passed away at the age of 65.

Her death comes after a long and courageous battle with cancer, a disease she had lived with for many years.

She was surrounded by her devoted family during her final moments, with her sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, and Coleen by her bedside as she passed away peacefully.

Linda’s final days were filled with love and comfort, following a particularly difficult Christmas season that she spent reflecting on her life and family.

Christmas had always been Linda’s favorite time of the year, and she had shared her candid thoughts about the holiday in her weekly column for *The Mirror*.

However, this Christmas was far from what she had hoped for, as a severe chest infection left her unable to enjoy the festive meals she looked forward to.

Instead, she subsisted on energy drinks for several days. Despite this, Linda maintained her signature humor and optimism, even in the face of such hardship. In one of her last columns, published on January 1, she expressed her disappointment over missing her Christmas dinner and the typical festivities, including karaoke sessions and spending time with her loved ones. “It wasn’t the Christmas I wanted,” she wrote. “There was no late-night karaoke, and not one of my four selection boxes got opened.”

Despite her illness, Linda’s resilience and sense of humor never faltered. She continued to engage with her fans through her honest and often humorous columns, sharing the highs and lows of her battle with cancer. Just days after Christmas, Linda visited her doctor, who diagnosed her with a chest infection and prescribed antibiotics and anti-sickness medication. Linda’s condition worsened, but she remained determined to avoid a hospital stay. Her family, particularly her sister Denise, kept a close watch on her condition and ensured she was well cared for.

As New Year’s Eve approached, Linda admitted that she wasn’t in the mood for celebrations, missing out on Coleen’s New Year’s party and the opportunity to cuddle her new great-nephew. Instead, she spent a quiet evening with her friend Sue at home, falling asleep early after a challenging year. The following week, Linda enjoyed a modest but significant meal of chicken curry with pineapple, which she had not been able to eat for several days. “Pineapple in a curry,” she wrote, “that was the foil container to finally tempt me out of my fast. My very own Chinese New Year.”

Linda’s health continued to deteriorate, and on January 11, she was admitted to the hospital with breathing difficulties. Doctors diagnosed her with double pneumonia, and her condition rapidly declined. With her secondary breast cancer, which had spread to her brain, Linda’s body could no longer fight. Her sisters were by her side when she passed away on January 14, following a period of end-of-life care.

Linda’s passing has left a profound impact on her fans, who had followed her journey with cancer for years. She was not only known for her musical talents and her role in The Nolans, but also for her tireless advocacy work. Linda used her platform to raise awareness for breast cancer and other charitable causes, raising over £20 million for organizations like Breast Cancer Now and Samaritans. Her campaign for the availability of the drug Enhertu on the NHS for those living with secondary breast cancer was a testament to her determination to help others in similar situations.

Linda was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and, after a period of remission, learned in 2017 that the disease had returned. Her diagnosis of incurable secondary breast cancer in 2020, following the tragic loss of her sister Bernie, did not deter Linda. Instead, she threw herself into charitable work and supporting her sister Anne, who was also diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite her own health struggles, Linda’s unwavering commitment to helping others remained a central part of her legacy.

In a statement released by her agent, Dermot McNamara, Linda’s family expressed their deep sadness at her passing. “She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments,” the statement read. “Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others.”

Linda will be remembered for her courage, her contributions to the entertainment world, and her unrelenting commitment to raising awareness for breast cancer. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her and those who followed her story with admiration and affection.
