LeBron James and Savannah Brinson attended rival high schools in their hometown of Akron, Ohio. They met when he was 17 and a rising basketball star at St. Vincent-St.

Mary High School, and she was two years younger and a cheerleader at the rival school. A mutual friend told Savannah that LeBron had asked for her phone number. “I was like, No, I’m going to take his number,” she told Cleveland Magazine in 2018.
