This Morning fans were left cringing on Tuesday as Lisa Snowden appeared to make an ‘awkward’ dig at Alison Hammond’s outfit.

During the latest instalment, Lisa, 52, hosted a ‘the ultimate summer trousers’ segment with several models showing off the latest trouser trends. However, during the fashion feature, Lisa issued a warning about skinny jeans, saying: “Stay away from the skinny jeans, who looks good in a skinny jean except for Elizabeth Hurley?”

This prompted Alison, 49, to respond: “Oh I do like a skinny jean!” to which Lisa continued: “Yeah but it just shows lumps and bumps that aren’t there” with Alison adding: “Do you think?”

Viewers at home were left cringing over the moment as they noticed that Alison was in fact wearing skinny jeans on Tuesday’s show. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Alison’s in skinny jeans #awkward #thismorning”, a different account put: “‘Stay away from skinny jeans’ whilst Alison is sat there wearing them #ThisMorning”, another wrote: ““Nobody looks good in a skinny jean” erm isn’t Alison wearing skinny jeans Lis? #thismorning”, a different viewer pointed out: “Alison has got skinny jeans on #ThisMorning” while another added: “#ThisMorning Alison wearing skinny jeans.”

It comes as Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard signed off from This Morning duties in style last week by announcing it was their last show until September. The duo have been entertaining morning viewers on the ITV show after taking over from Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. However, Cat and Ben have handed over hosting duties for the summer to Alison and Dermot.

As well as Alison and Dermot, other show favourites including Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rylan Clark, Rochelle Humes and Joel Dommett will also be stepping into hosting duties. New mumSian Welby will also making her return to broadcasting for the first time since welcoming her baby daughter Ruby.
