Alison Hammond has shared what really goes on during Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.
The This Morning presenter appeared on the programme back in 2014 and was partnered with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec. Although they were the sixth couple to be eliminated, Alison has shed light on the truth behind rehearsals being filmed. It comes after dancers including Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima have been surrounded by allegations of poor behaviour.
Graziano, who is now said to be working on a farm, is accused of “kicking and hitting” his former partner, Zara McDermott, who he competed with back in 2023. Following reports that all rehearsals are recorded, Alison has now disputed this.

Speaking on This Morning, Alison told her co-host Dermot O’Leary as well as guests Vanessa Feltz and Tim Campbell: “Every single week, there was one day when it was just me and Aljaž. And they’d say ‘Oh we’re not filming today.’” It came after Vanessa Feltz spoke of her time on the programme when she competed with James Jordan in 2013.
Feltz, 62, claimed that every aspect of the show, including backstage rehearsals were filmed. Following a video resurfacing of James Jordan brutally discussing his partner Georgina Bouzova, responding to the clip, Vanessa said: “He could not have been more courteous, more patient, I really am two left-footed, I really am.
“Every step he taught me was a complete nightmare for him and an absolute revolution for me. But he was cheerful and chirpy and encouraging – at times, I marvelled at his patience. If I’d been him, I’d have said: ‘For God’s sake Vanessa, come on, come on!’ but he didn’t.”

Feltz went on to add: “He was delightful. But I do want to say one thing about Strictly, I’m not sure everyone gets this, really. When I got there, I was absolutely amazed to find they film every single minute of rehearsals, every single second, I kept thinking ‘God, this is so expensive for them to have a camera crew there for all of every rehearsal.”

But Alison disagreed as she interrupted to share her views: “No, I’m going to interrupt you there, there were some days for me, it was just me and Aljaž,” as Vanessa hit back: “For me, they always had a cameraman,” before Alison reiterated her point, adding: “I had maybe one or two days of me and Aljaž.”
Following claims of distressing behaviour behind the scenes, both Giovanni and Graziano were dropped from the Strictly line-up. The BBC recently confirmed that new measures have been put in place to protect celebrities and will be offering more support.
