GB News star Eamonn Holmes has offered fans an update on his health, confessing he can’t walk as he attends a birthday party just days after being forced to exit his show
Eamonn Holmes has offered a candid health update after being forced to leave his GB News show early on medical grounds, shortly after his split from wife Ruth Langsford.
The news anchor feels as though he is on “borrowed time” with his health, after his dad died at the age of just 65 from a heart attack.
Last week, Eamonn had to cut short his show while interviewing Maria Caulfield due to feeling unwell. He hopes to return the next day.
Now Eamonn has taken to social media to offer fans an update about his health struggles.
He first underwent a double hip replacement in 2016, followed by spinal surgery in 2022 after years of back issues, including a trapped sciatic nerve.
Just two months after that surgery, Eamonn fell down the stairs of his Surrey home and broke his shoulder, requiring another operation. As part of his recovery he also had a spine and neck stretching procedure, and he’s been using a walker to help him get around at various events.
Eamonn wrote on Sunday (July 7): “Hard to stand up but next my aim is to walk. Off to a birthday party today. What about you?” In the accompanying snap, Eamonn stood leaning against a door, dressed in a navy blue jumper and white chinos.
He added a pair of blue suede trainers and clutched his glasses in one hand while grinning at the camera – but fans were quick to spot an apparent Photoshop fail in the picture. On Eamonn’s left side, the doorway seemed to be wavy – a sure sign something had been edited.
Some fans took to the comments section to point out the blunder, with one writing: “He’s edited this pic, if you look bottom right, it’s curved lol.” Another said: “Oh dear god LMAO, Photoshop fail eh Eamonn come on!” And a third social media user hit back: “So what does it matter? We all edit photos to make us look and feel better.”
Eamonn had plenty of supporters turning out in force to comment, too, with Laura Whitmore and Nicola McLean both posting heart emojis. Another social media user encouraged: “You’re doing well Eamonn keep it up.” As another said: “Looking great Eamonn, keep smiling and surround yourself with positive people!”
Ex This Morning star Eamonn recently split from his wife Ruth, and Eamonn admitted he’s “not okay” after their separation was announced. Asked how he was doing at the TRIC Awards by the Mirror, Eamonn said: “I’m not okay. This is not a good time at all.”
Asked if the pair will continue to have any sort of relationship, he said: “It’s too early to say but I hope we can still be friends.”
GB News star Eamonn Holmes has provided an update on his health, revealing that he is currently unable to walk as he attends a birthday party. This comes just days after he had to leave his show on GB News early due to medical reasons.
Eamonn expressed his concerns about his health and mentioned that he feels like he is running out of time, especially after losing his father to a heart attack at a young age. He had hoped to return the next day, but his health struggles continue.
Back in 2016, Eamonn underwent a double hip replacement surgery, and in 2022, he had to undergo spinal surgery due to years of back problems, including a trapped sciatic nerve. Unfortunately, just two months after his spinal surgery, he fell down the stairs at his home in Surrey and broke his shoulder, leading to another surgery.
Eamonn has been using a walker to assist him in getting around at events as part of his recovery process. Despite these challenges, he remains determined to keep pushing forward. He also mentioned attending a birthday party and in the photo, fans noticed a possible Photoshop error in the background.
