Meghan Markle was set to release a cooking show, initially billed as a grand series centered on friendship and joy.

However, this ambitious plan appears to have been nothing more than a half-hearted effort to push her latest venture, which Netflix swiftly dismissed. Insiders reported that Netflix’s lack of enthusiasm turned Meghan’s big launch into a complete nonstarter. According to these sources, Meghan was supposed to create an entire series, but after two months of pre-production, Netflix pulled the plug, realizing that producing such a series required genuine effort—something Meghan was allegedly reluctant to provide.
In an attempt to legitimize the project, Meghan reportedly tried to recruit famous chefs to join the show, but this plan also flopped. Apparently, the culinary world wasn’t too keen on teaming up with her. This reluctance might stem from Meghan’s questionable reputation in the culinary community, particularly the time she allegedly took credit for a dish created by her ex-boyfriend, renowned chef Cory Vitiello. That incident didn’t win her any favors among top chefs, and according to Steph’s sources, it may have even led to her being unofficially blacklisted. So when Meghan reached out for help with the cooking show, chefs were not exactly eager to join the project.
As if this weren’t enough, this cooking show fiasco is not the first time Meghan and Prince Harry have been criticized for their perceived lack of effort. Their highly publicized Spotify deal is another example. They were reportedly paid $20 million but produced only one Christmas episode and a handful of podcasts under Meghan’s “Archetypes” series.
In the end, Spotify cut ties with the couple, with even a Spotify executive reportedly calling them “grifters.” Now, Netflix insiders may be wondering if they, too, are getting the short end of the stick.
