Kate Garraway looked in high spirits on Thursday as she ran errands while holding onto the gong she won at the National Television Awards just hours before.
The GMB presenter, 57, won the Authored Documentary award for a third time on Wednesday night for her work on Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story.
On Thursday, she wore a white and black striped cardigan with baggy blue jeans and white boots.
She wore a brown leather bag across her body and hung a black leather bag from her wrist, finishing her look with silver hoops.
Derek’s Story follows the last few months of Kate’s husband Derek Draper’s life – he died in January at the age of 56 after contracting Covid-19 in 2020.

To accept her award, Kate was joined onstage by her and Derek’s children Darcey, 18, and Billy, 15.
She began her moving speech: ‘This is a bittersweet one isn’t it? It’s very bitter to be here, with the gorgeous Darcey and Billy.
‘I promised them they didn’t have to say anything. We’re halfway through the first year of firsts really.
‘A first Easter and first birthdays, without Derek. It’s so strange to be here for the first Television Awards without him.
Derek had previously been the star of documentaries Kate Garraway: Finding Derek (2021) and Kate Garraway: Caring For Derek (2022).
The day before the National Television Awards, Kate remembered Derek on their 20th wedding anniversary.
She said on Instagram: ‘Today would’ve been my 20th wedding anniversary to Derek.
‘I mean, it still is my 20th wedding anniversary to Derek, it’s just one of those days, that we’ve talked about, like Christmas to come, Easter. All of those things – his birthday – where you really feel a punch to the stomach.

‘This one, particularly, I’ve been feeling really sorry for myself, I’m afraid, because it’s such a personal thing.
‘The others are as much, when he was here, made about the family, friends, all of that, whereas this day is so particularly special to him and I (sic).
‘The fact that he’s not here makes me feel very sad and notice his absence like a roaring, roaring train.
‘I’ve been the leaning into the grief, as everyone says you have to, and I’ve been re-reading some of his lovely anniversary messages on previous cards which I feel so grateful to have had that kind of romance and love in my life. I’m so lucky.’
On Thursday morning, Kate returned to the helm of Good Morning Britain and discussed her win.
She said the documentary was: ‘A total tribute to Derek, it was his story, and to the production company who made it so beautifully for him and for all carers really.
‘I’m glad [Susanna] said it was such a beautiful speech because it was such an out of body experience I came off stage [and said] “Did I make any sense?!”
‘Because, it’s such a strange moment and the children were lovely, so thank you.’
Kate finished: ‘It’s for the carers, it’s for the people who are vulnerable who need the care and for the people who do the caring, the brilliant professional carers.’
