Molly-Mae Hague had been “living a lie for months” with Tommy Fury according to reports.
The Love Island stars, 25, stunned fans last week when they announced they had called time on their five-year relationship amid reports Tommy had cheated.
After telling his followers he was “heartbroken” to confirm he had split up with Molly, Tommy denied reports he was seen snogging a blonde Danish woman in a nightclub in Macedonia.
However, sources say Molly recently found something “suspicious” on the boxer’s phone, before deciding enough was enough.
They said: “She had recently found something suspicious on his phone, but she’s not been very open to her friends about it.
“She’s terrified that a girl is going to come out of the woodwork with a story to tell about Tommy, which will destroy her. She’s been living a lie for months now. She wanted it to work more than anything but she’s told some pals that Tommy has let her down in an awful way,” reports Heat magazine.
Before she announced their split, Molly admitted she had become concerned for her relationship when Tommy became ‘protective’ of his phone.
Speaking in a video on her YouTube channel she shared: “My mind did somersaults, I thought, ‘Why is he shady about his phone who is he talking to?’ My mind went to the worst option. I was staring out the window like I was in a sad movie.”
Shortly after the shock announcement on Wednesday, it was claimed Tommy had ‘cheated’ on Molly with “multiple women”. A source claimed said Molly believes it could have happened a “number of times” as Tommy would “play away when he knew people wouldn’t recognise him”.
However, the boxer’s rep denies any wrongdoing, telling the Mirror : “Tommy is horrified by the false allegations of cheating being circulated by the media and he’s consulting his lawyers.” But a source told t he Sun : “He [Tommy] was downing Grey Goose vodka and didn’t seem to care who saw him with the girl. He kissed her. This will be heartbreaking for Molly-Mae.”
Fans are now questioning whether this has happened before, with another insider telling publication: “[Molly’s] now aware Tommy was unfaithful to her. She believes it has happened a number of times.” It was further suggested to the outlet: “It seems he would play away when he knew people wouldn’t recognise him.” Molly-Mae, according to the source, “fully expects that other women” will come forward to share their experiences.
