Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reason for going on a faux royal tour of Colombia is “self publicity”, according to a royal editor’s brutal assessement.

In The Sun’s podcast discussing the Sussexes plans to head to the South American nation famous for coffee and drug lords, royal editor Matt Wilkinson and royal journalist Victoria Murphy gave their views on the trip.

Prince Harry and Meghan will arrive in Colombia today (Thursday) at the invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez, where they will take part in several events, including a forum against cyberbullying.

The Duke and Duchess, in the South American country for the first time, will visit the capital Bogota before leaving for Cartagena and Cali on the Caribbean and Pacific coasts where they are expected at the weekend.

The expedition comes after the perceived success of Prince Harry and Meghan’s trip to Nigeria in May this year which was seen by many as boosting the couple’s profile.

Speaking on the Sun royal podcast, Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson said one of the main reasons the Sussexes were going to South America was “self publicity”.

Royal journalist Victoria Murphy added: “It is a very good question, why are they going to Colombia over any other country? Yes, they’ve been invited, but probably they have lots of invitations, you don’t kind of make a business plan or a career plan based on who invites you.

“They’ve got to have their own reasons for going for saying yes to this, and I think it is a little bit baffling.”

Meghan and Harry told ‘get professional help’ as they’re torn apart by politician
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been told to “get a grip” by former Labour Minister Bill Rammell. The politician made the remarks while commenting on their tour of Colombia.

Referencing the recent loss of their aide who quit after just three months in the role, he advised they need “professional help”: “To lose one member of staff from your entourage might be deemed unfortunate – to lose 18 in 6 years is a bit of a disaster. And I think they need to get a grip.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s upcoming visit to Colombia has sparked curiosity and discussion among royal experts. The decision to travel to Colombia, a country known for its rich culture and complex history, has raised eyebrows and questions about the couple’s motives. Some royal editors have speculated that the trip is simply a ploy for self-promotion, with little strategic reasoning behind the choice of destination. While it’s true that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited by Vice President Francia Márquez and will be participating in important events such as a forum against cyberbullying, some believe there may be more to their decision than meets the eye.Critics argue that Prince Harry and Meghan should focus on more pressing matters within the royal family and address the high turnover rate within their staff. Former Labour Minister Bill Rammell even went as far as to suggest that the couple seek professional help to better manage their team and responsibilities.Despite the skepticism surrounding their trip, many are hopeful that Prince Harry and Meghan will use this opportunity to shine a spotlight on important issues facing Colombia and engage in meaningful conversations with local leaders and communities. As the Duke and Duchess prepare to embark on their Colombian adventure, only time will tell what their true intentions are and what impact their visit will have on both the country and their reputation.
