ITV The Chase viewers were left doing a double take after being seriously distracted by a player’s unusual hairstyle

Four new hopefuls entered The Chase tonight, hoping to leave with a whopping amount of cash.

However, ITV viewers were distracted to see one of the contestants of the program had a very eye-catching hairstyle.

Bradley Walsh was back at the helm on Friday (August 16) for another instalment of the game show with four new contestants ready to go against Chaser Sean “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace.

Each took their turn in a bid to walk away with thousands of pounds,

However, while they did so, fans of The Chase couldn’t keep their eyes off of the fourth contestant, Zak.

The 24-year-old professional athlete from Loughborough joined his team sporting a 1980s-style mullet and sent Twitter into meltdown.

One chimed in: “The chase is now on !! #TheChase Zak hair !!!” followed by three laughing emojis.

Another quipped: “If Zak had grown up in my era we would have held him down and cut that bl**dy hair off.”

A third added: “Thought he had a hood on with a furry trim….. then realised it’s his hair,” while several others posted gifs of men with mullets, adding: “Come on Zak!”

Zak revealed to Bradley he was a professional long jumper who appeared at the Tokyo Olympics.

He told fans: “I’ve been doing this for around four or five years professionally.” When asked how many medals he had won, he added: “Two European titles including a Gold but came up short in Tokyo.”

Impressed host Bradley added: “Good for you mate that’s top draw”.

Zak unfortunately wasn’t a winner during the game, managing to score nil points in his head-to-head with Bradley.

Fan agreed his questions were “much harder” than the other players, with another adding: “Those on here slating Zak off…. Behave. Have you got a gold Olympic medal??”

Fellow player Trevor was also sent home by Sean Wallace. The ladies were the heroes of the day with players Sarah and Eliza managing to bring £8k home.

But the celebration was short-lived after only answering 14 questions correctly and giving Shaun an easy path to victory, sending them home with nothing.
