Loose Women’s Gloria Hunniford announced the tragic death of her husband Stephen Way on Wednesday.
Gloria Hunniford and her late husband Stephen Way looked deeply in love as they were publicly photographed for the last time earlier this year.
On Wednesday, the heartbroken Loose Women star announced his death and paid an emotional tribute to Stephen with a moving statement.
She said: “[He] will leave the most enormous void not only in my life, but our entire family.”
Adding: “He was an incredibly kind, generous, and caring man, with a delightfully quirky sense of humour, which remained till the end.
“We had a tremendously happy 25-year marriage and did so many beautiful and exciting things together that I will always cherish.”
Although they remained private about their relationship, the couple often made red carpet appearances together.
Gloria and Stephen were last publicly photographed together in January and put on a loved-up display as they embraced each other at the press night for The King & I musical.
In the sweet snaps, the late 85-year-old looked dapper in a black suit and white tie which he paired with a striped scarf and brown leather gloves.
Meanwhile, the TV star was a vision in a floor-length suede yellow coat that complimented her statement gold necklace.
The couple were all smiles as Stephen wrapped his arm around his wife and pulled her in closely for the cameras.
Gloria’s statement concluded: “Stephen had been heroically fighting his illness… but always with great tenacity and a positive spirit.”
In the last year of his life, he had been left with only partial sight in his right eye following a devastating second stroke.
The duo tied the knot in Kent in 1998, together bringing five children from their former marriages into their blended family.
