Eamonn Holmes has been pictured wearing his wedding ring almost six months after he announced his split from wife Ruth Langsford
Eamonn Holmes, the seasoned TV star, is still wearing his wedding ring following his split from wife Ruth Langsford, as he was “not the one who called time” on their relationship, according to a source.
The couple, both aged 64, recently parted ways after 14 years of marriage, but fans have observed that Eamonn continues to sport his wedding band.
An insider revealed to Bella magazine that the father-of-four has consciously chosen to keep his ring on as it wasn’t his decision to end the marriage.
The same source told Bella:
“Eamonn doesn’t want to look like he’s the one to blame for the end of their marriage, so he doesn’t want to be the one to take the ring off first. He’s saying ‘I didn’t end this marriage so why should I take my ring off?’.”
They added, “It’s a bit of stubbornness from his side.”
Ruth, too, has been seen wearing her wedding ring despite the separation, with observant Loose Women viewers noticing her wedding band, reports the Mirror.
The former This Morning presenters tied the knot at The Elvetham hotel in Hampshire on June 26, 2010, following a 13-year relationship.
They welcomed their son Jack in 2002, and Ruth became stepmother to Eamonn’s children Declan, 35, Niall, 31, and Rebecca, 33, from his previous 11-year marriage to Gabrielle Holmes.
Following their separation, Eamonn has maintained his role on GB News while Ruth has immersed herself in her work with QVC and returned to Loose Women after a two-month hiatus.
It’s reported that Ruth still wears her wedding ring as she hasn’t fully come to terms with the end of her marriage.
“Ruth sees removing the ring as a significant step towards accepting it’s over. She’s still trying to understand everything and knows that taking off the ring is a major statement,” an insider revealed to Bella.
“Ruth won’t be pressured or told when to remove it, she’ll do it when she feels ready. Eamonn has said he won’t take his off unless Ruth takes hers off.”
“Eamonn will follow suit when she does, but at the moment, he believes if he removes it first it appears like he’s the one to blame, so he’s definitely keeping it on.”
