Ben Affleck was pictured working in Los Angeles on Thursday amid reports.
That his rumored split with wife Jennifer Lopez could be further complicated by their forthcoming film Unstoppable, which he’s a producer and she’s starring in.
The Air actor-director, 51, whose relationship woes with Lopez, 55, has dominated Hollywood headlines for months.
Was clad in a gray sport coat over a light blue button-up shirt with blue jeans and black boots.
The two-time Oscar-winner – who is father to children Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.
With ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52 – had a manila envelope in hand as he was seen in a parking structure on the summer weekday.
A source told In Touch on Wednesday that Affleck and Lopez will need to get on the same professional page amid their rumored split – which has been described as ‘imminent’ – to promote Unstoppable, which he’s producing with pal Matt Damon via their production company Artists Equity.
‘Unstoppable is a tricky one because Ben and Matt are so invested in its success, even if everything you see indicates that Ben and Jennifer are ending their marriage,’ the source told the outlet.
The source added, ‘It puts these guys in a tricky position if Ben and Jennifer are really done, but for now, they both want the movie to hit and exist apart from Ben’s crazy relationship drama.’
‘If Jennifer wants and asks Ben to be there for Unstoppable, he’s not going to say no, no matter how awkward it will be. Jennifer and her team know that!’
Sources told the Mirror that ‘the ending of their two-year marriage is stalling’ because Affleck ‘does not want to humiliate’ Lopez; and that he and Damon have ‘staked millions’ on the motion picture.
The movie, which features a cast including Lopez, Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Don Cheadle, is slated to debut next month at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
William Goldenberg, who Affleck has previously collaborated on films such as 2023’s Air and 2012’s Argo, directed the film.
In Unstoppable, Jerome plays the role of champion Arizona State University amateur wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg.
Affleck in March of 2023 told CBS Sunday Morning that it was a pleasure to work closely with Lopez on the movie.
‘What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend,’ Affleck said. ‘If you don’t like who you’re working with, and if you have difficulty or trouble at work, I think it’s one of the things that can really cause depression, anxiety and pain for people. And conversely, [if] you love the people at work, you probably have a pretty good life, you know?’
Affleck told the outlet of Lopez working on the motion picture, ‘Can’t make it look like she’s doing it as a favor to me, but actually she is.’
Affleck and Lopez past worked with once another during their romance two decades back, including the famously-panned comedy Gigli in 2003, and the 2004 Kevin Smith film Jersey Girl.
Lopez – who is mother to twins Emme and Maximilian, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, 55 – was seen with her wedding ring on as she and Emme went out to dinner at the Beverly Hills restaurant e. baldi on Wednesday.
It’s been nearly two years since Affleck and Lopez exchanged vows at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
‘In the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined,’ Lopez said in her newsletter On the JLo on July 17, 2022. ‘One we dreamed of long ago and one made very real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very, long last.’
The couple again exchanged vows at Affleck’s estate outside of Savannah, Georgia on August 20, 2022.
