Ariana Grande’s fans are convinced the singer has her boyfriend Ethan Slater with her everywhere she goes — in the form of a photo on her iPhone lock screen.

The 31-year-old singer was spotted in the audience on Sunday at the Paris Olympics as she watched the qualifications round for the women’s artistic gymnastics competition.

But during a brief interview she gave from the stands, she flashed her iPhone lock screen, and eagle-eyed fans glimpsed a photo with the silhouettes of two people, which they thought were Ariana and Ethan.

Ariana was joined in the stands by her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo, who was with her when they appeared in a short TikTok video for Vogue that featured the phone lock screen.

‘Hi Vogue!’ both women shouted while waving at the camera, and Cynthia added, ‘We are here at the Olympics.’

The video cut out quickly, but just before it did, Ariana flipped her wrist as she leaned forward, revealing her phone’s lock screen, which briefly lit up at full brightness before quickly going black. 

Several fans took to social media to post screenshots of the moment while declaring that they thought it was Ethan in the photo.

The screen background was clearly of two people, and it also appeared to show a woman standing to the left of a man, but their identities were difficult to make out at such a small size.

However, several fans believed that the figures looked like Ariana and Ethan. 

The pop star’s romance with her fellow Wicked costar Ethan was reported last summer.

At the time, they were reported to have begun dating months earlier in 2023, when they were still shooting the musical film, though other sources on the set claimed that members of the cast and crew thought they were just good friends at the time.

Ariana reportedly ended things with her husband Dalton Gomez in January of that year, and their divorce was finalized by March 2023.

The timeline has been more fuzzy in regard to when Ethan split from his wife Lilly Jay.

Although they have claimed to have begun dating only have splitting from their partners, Lilly described her family as just ‘collateral damage’ in Ariana’s new relationship with Ethan while speaking with Page Six in July 2023.

Ethan certainly didn’t give any hints that there was trouble in his marriage on his Instagram page, as he had saluted his then wife for Mother’s Day in May 2023, and the couple had welcomed their first child together in January of that year.

Ethan costars with Ariana in Wicked as Boq, a munchkin who falls in love with her character Glinda, though she goes by Galinda earlier in the story.

However, when she spurns his advances, he runs to the arms of another witch, and their tragic love games end up transforming him into the character known as the Tin Woodman in L. Frank Baum’s original Wizard Of Oz books.

Ethan has had a few small film roles up to this point, but the two-part adaptation of Wicked appears to be his most substantial film role to date.

He also appeared in a single episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel earlier this year, and he played the real-life actor Joel Gray — best known for playing the Emcee in the original Broadway production of Cabaret and the 1972 film adaptation — in the FX miniseries Fosse/Verdon.

Although Ethan’s list of film credits isn’t long, he has already established himself as a stage veteran.

Musical fans probably know him for playing the title character in the SpongeBob SquarePants musical. The role earned him a Drama Desk Award, as well as a prestigious Tony Award nomination.

Ariana’s upcoming film Wicked is directed by Jon Chu, who was also pictured hanging out with Ariana, and other stars were seen mingling with her, including Ariana Wintour, Elvis director Baz Luhrmann, Lena Waithe and Ariana’s brother Frankie Grande.

Later on Monday, Ariana shared some behind-the-scenes photos from her time in Paris — including another shot of her phone screen, though it was darkened this time.

She looked glamorous in a sleeveless white satin dress that she wore with matching pumps and a chic set of large oval-shaped sunglasses.

The hitmaker, who wore her hair dyed to a dirty blond, also brought along a stylish brown leather–and–wicker handbag, and she wore her dress with a thick white belt around her trim midriff.

Ariana included a photo of herself doing her makeup in a much more casual outfit, and she also posted some images of herself getting ready earlier in the week for the Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony, which she attended with Cynthia again by her side.

The Thank U, Next singer was draped in a lovely sleeveless pale pink dress with a voluminous skirt and a small rectangular bow over her waist, while Cynthia stunned in an emerald green satin off-the-shoulder dress with a skirt starting high on her waist.

Ariana kept her hair parted at the side and tied back with another slim bow, while Cynthia covered her shaved head with a matching green straw bolero hat that was stylishly cocked to the side.
