The ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ alum got candid on what he gained after losing weight
Jon Gosselin has gained a few perks after losing a few pounds.
In a new interview with The U.S. Sun published on Wednesday, July 24, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, 47, opened up about how his life has changed for the better since prioritizing his health.
His longtime girlfriend, Stephanie Lebo, was also present, as he credited blood tests for low testosterone levels and non-invasive CellSound treatments for tightening his skin after weight loss.
Gosselin said the combination contributed to the “overall appearance” of his body, adding, “It’s improved my sex life.”
“I mean, that’s the reward we get for looking so good and being happy,” he continued.
The couple said low testosterone doesn’t just affect libido, but could also be a warning sign for heart issues.
“Women should get checked too,” Lebo, 36, said, urging others to check to see if they have “low estrogen” or “high estrogen.”
Earlier in the interview, Gosselin revealed he was “somewhere between 47 and 50 pounds” lighter, saying his weight “fluctuates week to week.”
In February, the father of eight spoke to Entertainment Tonight about how going from a television star to a full-time DJ negatively impacted his eating habits and eventually his health.
“I just got complacent with my health,” he told the outlet, at the time revealing he gained 35 lbs. “I’m in a comfortable relationship. I love my girlfriend, Stephanie. We just eat whatever we want, do whatever.”
The TLC alum said working from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. four to five nights a week didn’t necessarily give him the best options for a well-prepped meal.
“I think it’s very hard in our area. I mean, we live in Pennsylvania in a very rural area. We eat at gas stations,” Gosselin said. “We got Wawa. But there are healthy choices there. It’s just, like, three o’clock in the morning. What are you going to eat? You’re exhausted. You have another hour to drive. You’re just like, there’s no hotel. You’re nowhere to stop.”
“I don’t eat for like 12, 14 hours. So, I’ll eat dinner at three o’clock in the morning, then drive to a gig,” he continued.
By April, Gosselin shared another health update — this time revealing he lost more than 30 lbs. in two months after taking Ozempic.
Gosselin told Page Six he regretted “not starting it 10 years ago.”
“I feel amazing! Like, why didn’t I do this sooner? Maybe it wasn’t the right time,” he said at the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center West Hollywood grand opening.
He added that the drug, which is FDA-approved for people with type 2 diabetes, helped him change his eating habits.
“It’s really nice because it helped me stop drinking and it helped me get my appetite under control with less eating,” Gosselin said. “I was able to really refocus my diet that way, I just focused on consuming what I need to consume in a healthy manner.”
