Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are being brutally trolled online over the unusual name that they gave their fourth child.
The couple welcomed their fourth baby back in February 2023, but have kept their child’s name and gender a secret – up until now.
While on stage at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York City on Monday night, the actor, 47, thanked wife Blake, 36, and their four children by name, finally revealing their youngest child’s moniker.
But many people on the web were quick to criticize the baby’s name, with some branding it as ‘weird.’
It turns out, their fourth kid is named Olin; the name is of Nordic origin, and it means ancestor’s heir or to inherit.
It is typically a male name, however, Blake and Ryan have not yet revealed the gender of the child.
Social media users certainly had thoughts on the moniker, with one person writing, ‘Celebrities give their kids decent names challenge: failed.’
‘You sure you’re not missing some letters?’ someone else asked in response to a post about the name.
‘Weird name,’ another user added.
‘We are making up names I see,’ a fourth tweet read, while a fifth said, ‘What the hell does that even mean?’
Others, however, were supportive. Another person gushed, ‘Wait I love that.’
‘OK cute,’ a different user said; someone else chimed in: ‘OK cute.’
Some users joked that Taylor Swift was going to incorporate Olin into one of her songs, since the singer previously named characters in her tracks after Blake and Ryan’s other kids.
The couple, who wed in 2012, are also parents to three daughters: James, nine; Inez, seven; and Betty, four.
‘I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here. I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here,’ Ryan said on the stage at the premiere on Monday night, per Variety.
‘I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing – that is, the contents of this movie – that happens in your wondrous lives,’ he added.
Blake stunned at the event in a dark red jumpsuit – channeling Ryan’s Deadpool character – while he opted for a black suit over a white button down shirt.
The actress announced her fourth pregnancy in September 2022 when she attended the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women’s Summit in New York City sporting a baby bump.
She nor Ryan ever officially confirmed that she had given birth to their fourth child, but she hinted that they had expanded their family when she shared a snap of herself without a baby bump on February 12, 2023.
In the caption, the Gossip Girl alum hinted that she had her baby by writing: ‘Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023. Been busy.’
