Love Island star Ovie Soko appearing on the show as a guest chef, whipping up scrambled eggs and avocado for the presenters.
Announcing his dish, he revealed he would be making some ‘cheeky toast’ to go with the meal, and that’s when it all went south.
‘Do you ever get me cheeky toast in the morning?’ Ruth asked her husband.
Eamonn joked: ‘I’m looking for that before you say I want my breakfast. Like clockwork. Like clockwork my wife is in the morning.’
To loud laughs around the studio he went on: ‘I say, “Any chance of some cheeky toast?” and she goes, “No, I’m starving I want my breakfast.”‘
Ruth told him: ‘Can I just say, our 17-year-old son is here. Have you forgotten?’
A camera was then put on their teenage son who was sat with Ovie’s mum Foluso, cringing hard with his head in his hands.
He began shaking his head and was red in the face when he eventually looked up.
‘Look at him he’s mortified. Oh Jack, I’m sorry darling,’ Ruth said.
‘One day son you’ll know the meaning of a bit of cheeky toast,’ Eamonn told Jack.
Ruth and Eamonn have been married since 2010. As well as Jack, Eamonn is also dad to children Declan, Rebecca and Niall from his first marriage.
The couple often present This Morning on Fridays when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are off, and are filling in for the pair over the summer holidays.
