Jenna Bush Hager is putting rumors to rest after eagle-eyed fans noticed her missing wedding ring.
The Today show co-host recently addressed speculation surrounding her marriage to Henry Chase Hager, making it clear that her relationship is still going strong despite the gossip.
A Broken Finger, Not a Broken Marriage
During an episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, Jenna took a moment to explain why she hasn’t been wearing her wedding ring lately.
Rather than hinting at trouble in paradise, the missing band is simply the result of an unfortunate injury.
“I’m not wearing [a wedding ring] now because I broke my finger,” Jenna explained.
She acknowledged that she had seen the online chatter but reassured her fans, stating, “Don’t worry, Henry and I are still very happily married.”
Her casual and lighthearted approach put an end to the unfounded rumors. Still, it wasn’t the first time her wedding jewelry had sparked attention.
A History of Wedding Ring Mishaps
Jenna went on to share another story involving her wedding jewelry—one that had nothing to do with gossip but everything to do with a moment of bad luck.
Recalling a night out for co-host Savannah Guthrie’s 50th birthday, Jenna admitted that she had been one of the last people to leave the celebration. She laughed about how Henry had decided to leave early and wasn’t particularly thrilled that she chose to stay out longer.
“He went to bed a little earlier, sort of like, ‘Aren’t you coming with me?’ and I’m like, ‘No, I’m not coming with you!’” Jenna recalled.
The next morning, however, she realized that something far more serious than staying out late had happened—one of the stones from her engagement ring, a sapphire that once belonged to Henry’s grandmother, had disappeared.
Breaking the News to Henry
Jenna admitted that she wasn’t sure how to tell her husband about the lost heirloom, especially since her “wild behavior” from the night before had already left her feeling like she was “on thin ice.”
She debated whether to confess immediately or wait but ultimately decided honesty was the best policy.
“I went ahead and said, ‘Honey, you know, I know I lost a little bit of dignity last night. I also lost your grandmother’s sapphire,’” she revealed.
Fortunately, Henry was understanding. According to Jenna, her husband is an extremely patient man, which is something even her own mother, former First Lady Laura Bush, has acknowledged.
“My mom calls him a ‘saint,’ which is really just saying that I’m difficult to be with,” she joked.
Sadly, the missing sapphire was never found, but Jenna and Henry moved past the mishap without issue.
A Strong Marriage and Family Life
Despite the occasional ring-related blunder, Jenna and Henry’s marriage remains rock solid. The couple tied the knot in May 2008 in a beautiful lakeside ceremony at her family’s Texas ranch.
Over the years, they have built a loving home together and are now proud parents to three children: daughters Mila, 11, and Poppy, 9, and their 5-year-old son, Hal.
Jenna has often spoken about her husband’s unwavering support, and their long-lasting bond speaks for itself. Even though public figures frequently face scrutiny, Jenna made it clear that a missing ring doesn’t mean a troubled marriage—sometimes, it’s just a case of an injured finger.
With her characteristic humor and candor, she brushed off the speculation, proving once again that she and Henry are stronger than ever.
