Dylan Dreyer of the TODAY SHOW has sparked speculation that she might be the next to be let go after making a strange statement in her “farewell post” dedicated to Lester Holt.

Fans of The Today Show have been buzzing with speculation about whether longtime

meteorologist and co-host Dylan Dreyer is planning to leave the popular morning program. With ongoing changes at NBC, including the departures and new projects of some of her colleagues, rumors have circulated regarding Dreyer’s future with the network. However,

there is no truth to these claims—Dreyer remains an integral part of The Today Show

continuing to balance multiple roles while maintaining her place in the morning lineup.

Dreyer, who has been a key figure on The Today Show since 2012, serves as a meteorologist and co-host of 3rd Hour Today, appearing regularly alongside Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and Sheinelle Jones. Despite the whispers of her possible exit, there has been no official announcement from Dreyer or NBC indicating that she is stepping away from her position. She continues to be an active presence on the program, delivering weather updates, engaging in discussions with her co-hosts, and covering major events.

The speculation about Dreyer’s departure may have been fueled by recent shifts within NBC News, particularly the announcement that veteran journalist Lester Holt would be stepping away from NBC Nightly News to take on a full-time role with Dateline NBC. Holt, who has been a mentor and colleague to many at the network, received a heartfelt tribute from Dreyer following the news of his transition. In a touching Instagram post, she praised Holt for his professionalism and leadership, expressing her admiration for his contributions to journalism. While Holt’s departure marks a significant change for NBC, it does not signal any similar plans for Dreyer.

In addition to her work on The Today Show, Dreyer remains committed to her long-running educational nature series, Earth Odyssey with Dylan Dreyer. The show, which highlights global wildlife and natural wonders, premiered its seventh season on October 5, 2024. Despite concerns that her involvement in the series might indicate a shift in her career focus, it has not impacted her role on NBC’s flagship morning program. Dreyer has managed to successfully juggle both commitments, demonstrating her dedication to both science education and broadcast journalism.

Further reinforcing her ongoing presence at The Today Show, Dreyer recently filled in for Al Roker on February 25, 2025. Roker’s absence from the broadcast led to Dreyer stepping in to deliver weather updates and co-host segments alongside Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin. This appearance reassured viewers that she remains a vital part of the show and continues to be relied upon as a key member of the team.

Dreyer’s continued role at NBC is not surprising, considering her longstanding history with the network and the deep connection she has built with both her colleagues and the audience. Over the years, she has become a familiar and trusted face in morning television, known for her warmth, expertise, and ability to engage viewers. Her commitment to the program has been evident in her unwavering presence, even as she takes on additional projects outside of her morning show duties.

While media personalities frequently face rumors about career moves, Dreyer has not indicated any plans to leave The Today Show. Instead, she remains actively involved in her various roles at NBC, balancing her responsibilities as a meteorologist, co-host, and nature show host. Until an official statement suggests otherwise, fans can rest assured that Dreyer will continue to brighten their mornings with her signature enthusiasm and professionalism.

For now, viewers can expect to see Dreyer regularly on The Today Show, where she continues to deliver weather updates, participate in engaging discussions, and contribute to the dynamic energy of the morning broadcast. As NBC moves forward with its programming and personnel changes, Dreyer’s presence remains steadfast, proving that she is an indispensable part of the Today family.
