Holly Willoughby recently shared an unforgettable story during her appearance on *The Graham Norton Show*,
revealing a “wild” encounter she had with the legendary physicist Stephen Hawking.
The former *This Morning* presenter, who was on the show to discuss her new Netflix series *Celebrity Bear Hunt*, stunned viewers
when she disclosed that she had once done shots with Hawking at a party.
Joining her on the iconic red sofa were fellow guests Alan Carr, Robert De Niro, Elton John, Mikey Madison, and Brandi Carlisle.
Holly took the opportunity to reflect on her career, including the memorable moment she met the renowned scientist.
Speaking about the surreal experience, Holly recalled that she and Alan Carr attended a party where they met Stephen Hawking. To her surprise, the renowned physicist joined them for a round of shots. “We went to a party, and he was there, and we did shots with him, and he was quite wild!” Holly revealed with a grin. The candid moment caught the attention of the audience, leaving Holly visibly amused by the memory.
However, the conversation took a more poignant turn as Holly recalled the day Stephen Hawking passed away on March 14, 2018. On that day, she was hosting *This Morning* and the production team had prepared a special tribute to honor the late cosmologist. “We decided we would dedicate the show to Stephen,” Holly explained. Unfortunately, during the live broadcast, a technical mishap occurred when the sound engineer accidentally played Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” instead of the tribute music. Holly laughed as she recalled the embarrassing blunder, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of live TV.
Apart from her wild encounter with Hawking, Holly also discussed her latest adventure, *Celebrity Bear Hunt*, where she faced many new challenges while working alongside the famous survival expert, Bear Grylls. “It is so nice to be doing something new and exciting and being on a proper adventure,” she said, adding that Grylls had pushed her to do things she never thought possible, calling him “really convincing and inspirational.”
Holly’s time on the *Graham Norton Show* wasn’t just about stories from her career. She also shared a hilarious, down-to-earth anecdote from her experience at the Glastonbury Festival in 2024. After attending Elton John’s headline performance, she found herself in the infamous festival queues for the toilets. When Holly finally entered a cubicle, she encountered a chaotic mess. “I was standing on the loo – you would not want to sit down – and I thought, ‘Oh my god, when I come out of here, whoever comes in next will think that was me, so I can’t leave that,'” she joked.
Equipped with her trusty bag of wet wipes, Holly took matters into her own hands and cleaned the loo until it was spotless. “I cleaned that loo until it was perfect,” she said, laughing at the unexpected reality check following the magical concert experience.
Holly’s appearance on the *Graham Norton Show* offered a glimpse into both her professional and personal life, filled with unexpected moments and candid reflections.
