Less than two weeks after her heartfelt departure from the Today show,
Hoda Kotb reunited with her former co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager in New York City.
The trio enjoyed a cheerful evening together, demonstrating that their close bond remains strong despite Kotb’s departure from the morning show.
A Sweet Reunion
Kotb, 60, shared a warm selfie with Guthrie, 53, and Bush Hager, 43, on Instagram, showing the three sitting together in a restaurant booth.
“I love Wednesdays!! @savannahguthrie @jennabhager. Also remember when you had that big goodbye party and now I am like…… HIIIIIIIIIIII!” she jokingly captioned the post.
Bush Hager commented on the post with a heartfelt “I love you ❤️,” while Guthrie reposted the photo on her Instagram Story with the caption, “Reunion ❤️❤️❤️❤️ @jennabhager @hodakotb.”
Dinner and a Show
The trio wasn’t just catching up over dinner; they were also in town to support their Today colleague Willie Geist, who was hosting his first Sunday Sitdown Live event at City Winery. Kotb shared another series of photos on Instagram, including one where Geist gave her a sweet kiss on the cheek and another showing them smiling together on the red carpet.
“This amazing guy is about to have a Sunday sitdown on a Wednesday with @natebargatze @williegeist,” Kotb captioned the pictures.
The night turned into a mini Today show reunion, with meteorologist Dylan Dreyer joining Kotb, Guthrie, Bush Hager, and Geist for photos and laughs.
Moving Forward After ‘Today’
Kotb’s reunion with her former co-hosts marked her first public appearance with the group since her emotional farewell episode on January 10. Although she stepped down from her full-time role, Kotb made it clear that her connection to NBC and the Today show remains intact.
Ahead of her departure, Kotb assured fans that she wouldn’t be disappearing entirely. “I want to be a supporting character on a team that is already in place so that I’ll come in and just have a role there,” she told Page Six.
Kotb revealed she plans to make occasional appearances on Today with Jenna & Friends, continue her popular Making Space podcast, and cover major events such as the 2026 Winter Olympics and the 2028 Summer Olympics.
An Emotional Goodbye
During her final Today show appearance, Kotb reflected on her time as a co-host, expressing gratitude for her colleagues and the viewers who welcomed her into their homes each morning. The Hope Is a Rainbow author became visibly emotional as she bid farewell to the role she had cherished for years.
While Kotb may no longer be a daily presence on Today, her passion for storytelling and connecting with her audience remains at the forefront of her plans.
A Bright Future
As Kotb transitions into the next phase of her career, her focus is on maintaining her work-life balance while contributing to projects she loves. The reunion with Guthrie and Bush Hager underscored the lasting friendships she’s built over her time on Today.
Fans can look forward to seeing Kotb in new capacities, whether through her inspiring podcast episodes, special NBC appearances, or her signature Olympic coverage.
This heartfelt reunion serves as a reminder that while Kotb may have stepped back from her daily hosting duties, her presence remains an integral part of the Today family — and her joyful spirit continues to shine brightly.
