Annie Kilner is hitting back after Lauryn Goodman is said to have “exploited” her children with Kyle Walker.
Walker and his England teammates are tonight hoping to beat Spain in the Euro 2024 final following a nail-biting semi-final against the Netherlands, which saw them win 2-1.
In recent weeks, Lauryn Goodman has been taking to social media, sharing videos and images of her two children, whom she shares with England vice-captain Kyle.
But friends of Kilner, 32, say the mum-of-four is adamant she won’t let the “noise” affect hers and Kyle’s family life.
Earlier this year, Kyle moved out of the family home after it emerged he had fathered a second child with Lauryn.
The Mirror later revealed that the teenage sweethearts were keen to put the past behind them and focus on their family after welcoming their fourth child.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, a source said: “The family just want to enjoy this incredibly special moment where Kyle and the whole team have a real chance of bringing the trophy home to the millions of fans watching. Annie is incredibly strong and resistant and hasn’t paid much attention to the noise outside of the pitch, being the wife of a talented international football player comes with the hazard of being talked about in the media.”
The friend went on to add: “Whilst she is used to Lauryn taking advantage of this with meticulously timed social media posts, interviews and paparazzi walks she has been surprised by the sheer volume of it whilst the Euros have been on – particularly leveraging the children Kyle fathered with Lauryn with whom he has consistently said he can’t have a relationship with due to way Lauryn publically exploits them.”
Goodman, 33, had previously claimed that Kyle had invited her and Kairo out to a game in Germany so his son could see him play in the match but this was later shut down. A source close to Kyle told the Mirror at the time: “Lauryn and her children are welcome to enjoy the games and to go to watch the matches if they want to, but we would question why she wants to do it in such a public way. Contrary to previous reports, Kyle has not offered Lauryn any tickets, the people supporting him in the ground are his wife Annie and their children.”
Meanwhile, another source close to Kilner and Walker explained that the couple who are back on track are “fiercely protective” of their four children. They said: “Annie and Kyle are fiercely protective of their own children and don’t like seeing others used in this way. These are children who have never been to a match before, not grown up in that world and with whom Kyle has no emotional attachment to.”
Despite the drama surrounding her husband, Annie is adamant that her only focus is on her family with Walker. Our source continued: “Despite all this, Annie’s focus is and always has been primarily on her own young family not the blow after blow of antagonistic behaviour. They are all excited to be at the match, amongst friends they have grown up with, to support their Dad who has given his all throughout the tournament.”
Annie and their four children have been seen at every match supporting Kyle from the friends and family stands. Each time he has gone onto the pitch, Walker has been seen making an “R” symbol with his figures as a tribute to his children with Annie, all of whose names begin with R.
The couple are proud parents to Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five and baby son Rezon, who was born in April. A friend of Lauryn’s later told the Mirror: “Annie should just concentrate on herself instead of making comments about Lauryn and her children. Lauryn’s priority will always be her children. Her social media demonstrates this and where she has always shared her journey with her children, it’s not something Lauryn will ever change or should change because it makes others feel uncomfortable.”
